SHUTTLE BUS FROM VIENTIANE AIRPORT TO CITY CENTER
The shuttle bus from Vientiane airport are running every 40 minutes starting from 8 30 am until 9 30 pm. The travel time from Vientiane airport to city is 30-40 minutes depending on the traffic. The final stop of the shuttle bus is Vientiane Central Bus Station (check the shuttle bus route below)
The shuttle bus fare from Vientiane airport is 15,000 kip which is $1.75 USD. You can buy the ticket to the bus driver only cash and make sure you bring small bills.

The shuttle Bus from Vientiane airport to city before Bus Central Station will stop at Mekong Hotel, Wat Mixai, AV Hotel and Settha Palace Hotel. Most of the hotels are before getting to Bus Central Station in Section A.

Taxi fares from Vientiane airport to Vientiane city center are fixed starting from $10 USD depending on the final destination area in the city. It will take 15 minutes to drive from Vientiane airport to downtown and if you have too much luggage will be the best option for you. You will be able to book downloading Loca and prices start from $7-9 USD from Vientiane airport to city center a little bit cheaper than the taxi. You need to download the app and the order is working like Uber and Grab services.
TUK TUK FROM VIENTIANE AIRPORT TO CITY
There is no tuk-tuk from Vientiane airport but you can walk a few meters outside the airport to the main road and you will find tuk-tuks going to city center.
You will have to negotiate the price and it should be cheaper than the taxi. Just in case you want to have the experience of riding a tuk-tuk from Vientiane airport to city center. Remember there aren’t fixed prices so it will depend on your negotiation skills.

Hey, I arrived yesterday at Vientiane Airport and and there was no shuttle bus. We were told it stopped the service after COVID-19. So at the moment the only option is to take a taxi/minivan (or grab a TukTuk at the street).
