Heymondo vs Safetywing: Cheapest Travel Insurance Comparison
Things to consider when using a Travel Insurance
The main thing to consider is the length of your travel. Your trip can be from 1 month to a whole year. It’s also important to consider your age, if you are traveling with kids, if you are doing adventure activities, and also if you are carrying devices since both Heymondo and Safetywing have similar medical covered expenses.
For the basics, both of the insurance Safetywing and Heymondo can cover enough medical expenses up to 250K USD. Heymondo has a lot of advantages since you don’t have to pay any money in advance. No complications like deductibles and excess in some of their plans. Plus communication is key and with the Heymondo Assistance App you will be able to communicate 24/7.
Why You Should Get Heymondo Travel Insurance

Heymondo right now is the best value for the money I would say especially if you are older than 40 years old and you aren’t traveling with kids. Heymondo Travel Insurance is the one that we are using right now.
The best thing about Heymondo Travel Insurance for us is the No out-of-pocket medical expenses apart from great coverage with devices and baggage, Heymondo App assistance 24/7 which is really amazing and of course, their competitive prices.
These prices mentioned below are for the basic medical expenses but you can upgrade for a $10-20 USD extra per month if you would love your coverage to have more features.
Heymondo Travel Insurance prices valid for 90 days are so competitive. This is Heymondo’s Long Stay Plan. If you are coming from Europe/UK like me from Spain you will pay around $45 USD per person valid for 30 days. It means $135 USD you will get your Travel Insurance with Heymondo valid for 90 days even cheaper if you book here with Heymondo discount code!
Let’s say you are coming from Canada or the Philippines like Rachel Heymondo Travel Insurance prices are similar and you will have to pay $140 USD for 90 days Travel Insurance with Heymondo.
If you are from the United States you will pay $260 USD for 90 days which is $85 USD per person for 30 days. You can get even cheaper if you book here with Heymondo discount code!
Why You Should Get Safetywing Travel Insurance

We have used Safetywing in the past because it is the most affordable travel insurance. You can renew for 28 days at the same price and you don’t need to subscribe to a minimum of 90 days to get better packages. This is compared to Heymondo’s Long Stay Plan that sets 90 days as their minimum cover. Heymondo does offer other pricing plans.
Safetywing Travel Insurance price for 30 days if you are coming from Europe, UK, the United States and Canada are the same – you will pay around $45 USD per person valid for 30 days, and covers any age up to 40 years old. Check Safetywing Travel Insurance Prices here.
The other plus for Safetywing is that for every 90 days of insurance you’re subscribed to (this needs to be a one-time 90-day insurance subscription, and can’t be divided into 90 days you purchased month by month), you can still get covered for any disease or issue you get for 30 days when you travel back to your home country (15 days if you’re from the United States).
Our favorite thing in the Safetywing Travel Insurance vs Heymondo comparison, with Safetywing, you get a free travel insurance for a kid up to 10 years old, one kid per adult. Since we’re traveling with Han, this is a plus for us. With Heymondo, a kid can get insured but is considered as another traveler, and will need their own separate travel insurance.
With Safetywing, you don’t need to pay a premium for high-risk activities as many are included in their standard pricing, including horse riding, scuba diving, snowboarding, and bungee jumping.
PROS AND CONS HEYMONDO VS SAFETYWING TRAVEL INSURANCE COMPARISON
With Heymondo, our favorite thing is that if you are over 40 years old, you get a better price than Safetywing, especially if you have a problem or accident during your trip. It’s also an incredible plus that you have access to their Heymondo Assistance Chat 24/7, plus without a need to put money in advance when you need medical assistance.
Another plus is that with Heymondo, you can include optional devices and gadgets insurance (add it to any of your plans) that can cover gadgets and devices that can be broken or stolen during your trip. This is a big plus because a lot of devices and gadgets right now are pricey and valuable to your trip. Insuring gadgets and devices are something we truly miss with Safetywing’s travel insurance.
Another pro that we love about Heymondo is their Trip Cancellation feature. If you subscribed to Heymondo’s travel insurance in advance and you had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, they’ll offer you a refund, no questions asked.
Safetywing is perfect if you are under 40 years old. Their pricing is competitive for this range of age. Safetywing’s prices are the best especially if you traveling with a kid up to 10 years old, who can get covered for free! There are a lot of risky activities that are included in Safetywing’s plans as well, without extra charge. And you can book for 28 days at a time, for a cheaper price.
One of the cons we see with Safetywing is that if you have a problem, and need medical assistance immediately, you’ll have to put your money first and there is no 24/7 support like with Heymondo.
Final Thoughts Heymondo Vs Safetywing (Cheapest Travel Insurance)
Heymondo is our new travel insurance of choice, which offers the same pricing as Safetywing with our special discount offer (we’re also extending this to you, so be sure to check the links!). Before discovering Heymondo, we used Safetywing for our travels. All in all, we’re incredibly grateful not to have to need our insurance in our most recent 9-month trip to South America.
Ruben is 40 years old and Han is 10 years old and we are always traveling over 90 days. For the kind of travel we do, Heymondo is the cheapest travel insurance. Best support and best bang for your buck!
