How to get from Taipei to Kenting By Train And Bus

Today we will write about how to get from Taipei to Kenting. There are a few options available to get from Taipei to Kenting  the southern part in Taiwan via Kaohsiung.

Taipei to Kenting By Flight

If you want to get from Taipei to Kenting by flight. There is only one daily flight from Taipei to Kenting. It takes one hour. And the flight from Taipei Songshan airport getting to Hengchung Airport in Kenting which is getting passengers back to Taipei.

HOW TO GET FROM TAIPEI TO KENTING TRAIN PLUS BUS SHUTTLE AND LOCAL BUS

If you want to get from Taipei to Kenting by train. You will have to get to Kaohsiung from Taipei Main Station. There are two options HSR train and local train.

Taipei to Kenting by HSR Plus Shuttle Bus

There are trains leaving every 15-20 minutes from Taipei to Kaohsiung. Starting 6 am and finishing around 10 pm. The travel time will take around 1 hours 30 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes. The tickets can cost between $50-60 USD. Make sure you book 2 weeks before if you don’t want to risk and secure your spot.

Bus Shuttle from Kaohsiung to Kenting

Once you get to Kaohsiung train station (Zuoying HSR). You can get the Kenting Express Bus at Zuoying HSR Station in the first floor on the right side in the Exit 2. Kenting Express Bus is leaving from 8 30 am to 7 pm last one. The buses are running every 15-30 minutes from Zuoying HSR Station and finishing in Xiaowan.

TAIPEI TO KAOHSIUNG (FANGSHAN STATION) BY LOCAL RAILWAY TRAIN PLUS LOCAL BUS FANGSHAN TO KENTING

If you go by local train from Taipei Main Station to Kenting going Fangshan Station. The travel time will be between 4 hours 30 minutes and 6 hours to reach Fangshan Station from Taipei Main Station. It costs around $30 USD one way ticket. Kaohsiung to Taipei train schedule are running every 30 minutes.

From Fangshan Station to Kenting by bus will take around one hour. And the bus fare from Fangshan Station to Kenting will be 150 TWD for a local bus. You can also stop in Fanglio coming from Taipei Main Station which is 15 kilometers North from Fangshan and get a local bus going from Fanglio to Kenting.

Taipei to Kenting by Bus Via Kaohsiung

If you prefer traveling from Taipei to Kenting by bus will be the most affordable option but it will take long. The cheapest way from Taipei to Kenting via Kaohsiung will take 5 hours and it costs between $15-25 USD.

Taipei to Kenting by Car

If you are planning to rent a car and drive from Taipei to Kenting. The distance is 455 kilometers and travel time Taipei to Kenting by car is around 5-6 hours depending on the traffic.

You will have to drive to Kaohsiung first and later continue to Kenting. It can be a great option if you are traveling in a group or with too much luggage.
