Best Beaches in Portugal
1. Praia da Falesia – Algarve
One of the many long beaches in Algarve is Praia da Falesia, with shores stretching from Olhos de Água in the east and the beautiful Vilamoura in the west. It is another stunning beach with a truly great vibe, with its wooden steps leading to and from various places in the area. Praia da Falesia can also be reached from the Pine Cliffs resort through a glass lift that takes you to the boardwalk.
2. Praia do Camilo – Algarve
If you’re visiting Lagos, one of the best places to visit in the Algarve would be Praia do Camilo. It is a paradise that can be reached by descending the long, wooden stairs and is well worth the effort. Praia do Camilo is made of two beaches connected to each other by an artificial tunnel.
The water is exceptionally pure and is a great place for snorkeling. It is one of the smaller beaches in the region so it’s best to visit during low tide so you can have plenty of space to sunbathe on.
We really loved Praia do Camilo because the water was so clean and crystal clear. Plus, the views were truly incredible. If you go on weekends and during the high season, you can expect the peach to be crowded.
3. Praia Dona Ana – Algarve
It’s located just a few meters walking distance from Praia do Camilo and Ponte du Piedade. It’s more clam than the others and it has easy access. The part on the left side is usually crowdy but on the right side with the big limestones is so quiet and relax for spending your day.
Surrounded by stunning cliffs, this beach offers calm waters and picturesque scenery. It’s easily accessible from the town of Lagos and is ideal for families and sun-seekers.
4. Praia de Odeceixe – Odeceixe, Alentejo
Where the Alentejo meets the Algarve, this beach lies at the mouth of a river and offers a unique crescent shape. It’s great for families due to its gentle river waters and nearby facilities.
5. Praia da Nazaré – Nazaré, Central Portugal
Famous for its giant waves and surfing records, Nazaré is a bustling town with a wide sandy beach that attracts surfers, tourists, and sunbathers alike.
6. Costa de Caparica Beaches – Lisbon
A trip to a coastal city like Lisbon will not be complete without a visit to its beaches, particularly the ones at Costa de Caparica. This area is a 15 km long shoreline that’s only 25 minutes away from the capital and is among the top places to visit in Lisbon, especially in the summer.
It is the perfect day to unwind after countless tours around Lisbon. In these beaches, clothes are actually optional, so don’t get too surprised when you visit. One of the best spots to chill at in Costa de Caparica is Praia da Mata. And Fonte Da Telha is a beautiful beach just a few kilometers outside Lisbon. We spent an amazing afternoon in this local beach.
Popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers due to its strong winds and wild waves. It also provides
7. Olhos de Agua – Algarve
A small fisherman’s village located in the municipality of Albufeira, Portugal. It is one of the beaches that is great for families because of its direct access from the village and offers variety of services.
It is a beautiful beach, and in the low tide, you can watch its famous natural springs coming out of the sand known by the locals as “Olhos de Agua” (water eyes). Staying there until the sunset will surely captivate you with its beauty.
8. Porto Covo – Porto Covo, Alentejo
Characterized by its rugged cliffs and small coves, Porto Covo is a picturesque village with a series of beautiful, small beaches and rocky outcrops.
If you are looking for the best beaches in Portugal, you will find the most beautiful in Algarve area but you can pass by Lisbon, Aveiro and Central Portugal to find nice beaches and ideal for surfing too.
