Bread with alioli you will find anytime as Ibiza traditional food to try. Alioli is made of garlic and mayonnaise sauce. As an appetizer before lunch or dinner, bread with alioli is perfect to eat with olives while waiting for your main course. Rachel loved it so much dipping the bread with alioli sauce.

Molleja (Gizzard) was our first time trying this dish in Ibiza cuisine during our trip to the White Island. The fried molleja (gizzard) had such an amazing taste that it actually became in Rachel’s favorite food in our European trip besides the Cochinillo in Segovia. It’s a good dish that you can partner with bread and alioli. The price for a dish in a local restaurant is around €10-12.

Bread with tomato is the one that Rachel loved to try with bread and alioli. The bread with tomato made with oil and garlic to the sauce is one of the best, especially as a traditional food in Ibiza.

For breakfast, lunch or dinner, you can eat this anytime – seriously. It’s so delicious and you can also add ham, cecina or other kinds of embutidos. Prices are around €5-7.

4. SOBRASSADA

Sobrassada is a raw cured sausage typical Ibiza food and in the Balearic Islands made with ground pork, paprika and salt and other spices. You usually eat sobrassada spread in bread which is one of the most popular appetizers to try in Ibiza. Prices are around €5-7 in local bars and restaurants. Perfect if you partner with cold beer or wine.

6. ENSALADA PAYESA

Arroz de matanzas is a hearty soup that’s deeply rooted in Ibiza’s history. You can eat arroz de matanzas anytime of the year mostly in winter or autumn. It’s made from a mix of herbs and leftover pork cuts cooked with rice and vegetables.

Arroz de matanzas used to be a way to survive and provide enough food for an entire family during the cold winter months. But is now abundant in many restaurants as Ibizan cuisine. Prices are around €12.

Bullit de peix is delicious seafood and the most popular fish dish in Ibiza. Bullit de peix is a tasty stew made from boiled fish, potatoes, garlic, tomato and saffron, and has a stock that is also used for its accompanying dish called arroz a banda (rice). Bullit de peix is one of the most traditional Ibiza food to try. Price of the dish is around €15-20.

9. SOFRIT PAGÈS

Sofrit pagès is a stew cooked with lamb, pork, chicken and sobrasada (sausages) for for meat lovers dishes in Ibiza. Add potatoes and artichokes into the mix and you’ve got yourself one hearty meal! 

Sofrit pagès is usually cooked during celebrations especially in the winter with each family having their own versions of the dish. Can be the perfect hangover cure after a night of clubbing in Ibiza. Prices are around €12.

10. GREIXONERA

Now, we move on to desserts in Ibiza! Greixonera is a type of bread pudding that is made from leftover ensaimadas, a kind of sweet bread. Despite being leftovers Greixonera triumphs as its own dessert that’s perfect for those lazy Spanish afternoons. It was so delicious with the foam and the chocolate! It was the perfect way to finish our dinner. Prices are around €5.

11. Ensaimadas

Ensaimadas is a pastry similar to small croissants made with wheat flour, sugar, eggs and filled with chocolate or cream. Ensaimadas is usually eaten for breakfast or as a snack one of the Ibizan delicacies that you should try. Ensaimadas are also popular as Filipino food. With ensaimaida leftovers you can make greixonera dessert.

12. Orelletes

Orelletes means ears in Ibizan language and it’s one of the traditional Ibizan desserts. Orelletes is made of eggs, flour, sugar and olive oil. You have to fry them and ready to go! Orelletes is a perfect souvenir to bring from Ibiza.

13. Flaó

Flaó is a traditional dessert in Ibiza made of goat’s cheese, ground almonds and honey. It’s the same as a cheese cake. You will find it in local restaurants for €4-5.

You cook the stew made of fish and you use to steam the noodle pasta and add vegetables, meat or seafood. You can also eat with lemon once is served on the table. Paella is a must-try dish in Ibiza. It’s typical of Valencia in Spain. And in Ibiza, they made a seafood paella. You boil the broth made of fish and later you use to cook the rice and adding vegetables, seafood or meat as you prefer with saffron to turn the rice in yellow color. Rachel liked this drink so much and how people usually get a free shot after their meal. They have a variety of herbs liqueurs in Ibiza. Price is €2-3 but sometimes they will include in the meal price.

19. DRINKING TINTO DE VERANO AND SANGRIA

We found this paradise just a few kilometers from the city center called Mariposas Club where you can enjoy your paradise vacation. The place was perfectly peaceful and quiet, very clean, the fresh air was nice, and we loved the pool area so much. The owner, Antonella, is super friendly and if you visit Mariposas Club, you will realize why they have the highest score in Agoda around Ibiza. 

Prices for a room start at €100 and is totally worth it if you want to find peace in the bustling areas like San Antonio and Playa d’en Bossa.
