How to get from Bali Airport to Seminyak

Bali Airport Distance to Seminyak

Ngurah Rai International Airport is located South of Denpasar and it’s also known as Denpasar airport. The exact location is between Jimbaran and Kuta.

Bali Airport to Seminyak distance is around 10 kilometers. The travel time from Bali Airport to Seminyak can be 30-40 minutes depending on the traffic could be until one hour.

By Bus From Bali Airport to Seminyak

Bali airport to Seminyak cheapest way will be by bus. There are not direct bus from Bali airport to Seminyak by bus. First you will have to ride a bus going from Denpasar airport to Kuta. Once in Kuta you will have to commute the bus going from Kuta to Seminyak.

Trans Sarbagita Bus from Denpasar Airport to Kuta

You can get Trans Sarbagita from the airport just at the left side before leaving the airport. The main problem with this bus is there are only 6 buses during the day. The Bus Schedule: 10.45 am, 12.45 pm, 2.45 pm, 4.45 pm, 6.45 pm and 8.45 pm. So expect long time waiting for it. The price is only 3500K IDR and it will go to Kuta.

Once in Kuta you will have to transfer to Kura Kura Bus going to Seminyak 7500K IDR. The travel time from Bali airport to Seminyak by bus can be done in less than two hours if you are lucky with the waiting time.

Bemo Van from Denpasar Airport to Kuta

You can ride Bemo which are small mini buses picking up passengers around Bali. Bemo is the local way of transportation in Bali. If you walk outside the airport you will see this transportation. Prices are around 4K-10K IDR for a ride. There is no fixed price and it’s depending on the distance.

Obviously in Bali expect to pay more than locals (not always) around 15K IDR which is only $1 USD to get to Kuta from Bali airport. Bemo driver will know where are you heading to if you show or explain to him.

Once you are in Kuta you will have to take Kura Kura Bus from Kuta to Seminyak will cost around 7500K IDR which less than $1 USD.

If you are traveling alone with no so much luggage in a low budget can be your best option. You will be able to save a few dollars. But to be honest, if you are traveling with someone else could be better to share Grab or Go Jek.

BALI AIRPORT TRANSFER TO SEMINYAK BY PRIVATE SHUTTLE

The easiest and most comfortable way to get from Bali airport to Seminyak by shuttle provided from your hotel or guesthouse. Also the most expensive too! The option is great if they provide for free or for a reasonable price. If there are a few of you coming together would be great sharing the expenses.

HOW TO GET TO SEMINYAK BY TAXI FROM THE AIRPORT

Once you get to Bali you will see machines to book prepaid your taxi. But sadly they aren’t working hope they will do soon. Taxis will offer their services. If you choose a taxi make sure they drive you with the taximeter or just ask about the price in advance.

A good and fixed price from Denpasar to Seminyak would be 150K IDR ($10 USD) you can book online. The drive takes around one hour to Seminyak at day time from the airport by taxi. The option is great if there are at least two people for of you bringing luggage you will not have to fight to get Grab or Go Jek always that you adjust the price.

If taxi drivers are charging high prices you can always go outside the airport and they to get a Blue Bird that they always turn on the taximeter. And you will get charged the exact price for the ride from the airport to Seminyak. This option can be even cheaper around 120K IDR from Bali airport to Seminyak.

Bali Airport to Seminyak by Grab And Go Jek

If you decide to get to Seminyak by Grab or Go Jek you will have to go outside the airport to get your ride. Since they aren’t allowed to pick passengers up from the airport.

It can be a problem if you aren’t bringing a hotspot with you or a local SIM card to be connected while waiting but still you can manage since they will tell you where to wait and you can see the number plate.

Prices going to Seminyak by Grab or Go Jek are around 120K to 150K IDR. We always find Go Jek cheaper than Grab. But if you check Google Maps app on your phone, it will tell you the price of both of them. So you will compare and book at your convenience by opening Grab or Go Jek app. The trip will last around 30-40 minutes. It’s short distance but there is a lot of traffic at the time.

ATMS IN THE AIRPORT

There are just a few of them once you get your luggage and after the immigration stamp, you will see a few of them. Most of them will give you 100K bills and there is one that will give you 50K bills. You should know 100K is around $7 USD and sometimes when you buy small things they will have no change.

There was no ATM commission in the airport, so if you withdraw money in the airport you will only have to deal with your bank commissions. In our case luckily we have a card for withdrawing money that they don’t charge anything!

DAILY BUDGET TRAVEL IN SEMINYAK

You can find cafes serving less than $1 USD and you can also eat local food like Nasi Goreng or Nasi Campur for $1-2. You can also enjoy some Smoothies and Gelato if you’re traveling on a hot season. Everything’s really affordable if you are traveling on a budget, you won’t have any problem at all. They also offer beers during Happy Hour for only $2-3 USD.

For accommodation, you can find really good accommodation for an affordable price. Prices start from $10 USD in a local guesthouse depending on how much you want to stretch your budget. I would say for $25-40 USD you will find a great room for two people.
