SIM CARD AT MANILA AIRPORT

I wouldn’t recommend you to buy a sim card at Manila airport. GET TO BORACAY FROM MANILA AND CEBU BY FLIGHT

If you are getting to Boracay Island from Cebu and Manila. Flights are going to Caticlan and Kalibo which is 2 hours by bus from Caticlan port. The flight will last 30-40 minutes from Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

From Caticlan airport, you have to ride a tricycle to the Jetty port in Caticlan. If you are coming from Kalibo to Caticlan you have to ride a bus around 2 hours to Caticlan Jetty port. Once in Caticlan Jetty port you have to ride a ferry 10-15 minutes ride for 100 PHP.

GET TO BORACAY BY FERRY FROM BATANGAS

Boats are leaving from Batangas port 2 hours far from South Manila. This could be the cheapest option a night boat from Batangas to Boracay.

CURRENCY AND ATM’S IN BORACAY ISLAND

There are a few ATMs around Boracay so withdrawing money from your bank will not be a problem. Just take note of the fees they might charge you if you are a foreigner. It can be 250 PHP or $5 USD or higher. It depends on your bank and the bank you are withdrawing from.

If you want to avoid this fee from the withdrawal of money, no worries because there are also a lot of money exchange offices in Boracay Island. Click here to know the exact exchange rate!

ENTRANCE FEE TO BORACAY ISLAND

There is an entrance environmental fee of 75 PHP and 100 PHP Terminal fee to enter Boracay Island from Caticlan Jetty Port. The ferry ride will cost you 100 PHP as a foreigner and 75PHP if you are Filipino tourist as Rachel for 10 minutes ride to the port in Boracay Island. You have to make sure that you have an email or receipt of your booking since they will ask you before going to the island.

TRANSPORTATION AROUND BORACAY

There are tricycles to move around the island. You can share a tricycle and the price is 20 PHP to most of the places. If you have a private tricycle, prices are around 150 PHP depending on the distance. We rode a tricycle from Puka Beach to Iliag Illigan Beach only 1.5 kilometers and the price was 150 PHP for the ride.

There will be solar jeepneys with air conditioning soon in Boracay. We rode one jeepney from Puka Beach to Station 1 for free because it was on trial period. Soon the route will be from the port to Puka Beach crossing Station 3-2 and 1. To be honest you can go a walking distance from Station 1 to Station 3 passing by Station 2 and it will take you 20-30 minutes. The price is 20 PHP per ride!

There are also boats available in Boracay if you want to do island hopping. Prices per person are around 1000 PHP with lunch included.

REOPENING IN BORACAY: NEW RULES AND CHANGES

As you can see in the picture above these are the new rules in Boracay. It’s forbidden to bring bottles to the beach, add pool chairs, bringing pets. All the rules are focused to keep Boracay clean, especially around White beach they are monitoring this all the time. It’s also not allowed to fire dance and build castles in the beach!

Also remember that you have to show a booking confirmation before boarding the ferry in Caticlan port. Otherwise you aren’t allowed to take the ferry from Caticlan port to Boracay.

There are few places like Crystal Cove and Magic Island that aren’t opened yet because of the new regulation. Also, many hostels and hotels are doing renovation since the rules became so strict in Boracay.

About the reopening, we liked so much the new Boracay Island. It’s cleaner, no plastics and so beautiful, which is really good for the environment. There are many places which is forbidden to smoke and there are smoking areas to do it.

The only thing that we consider that we think they should improve are the roads. Since most of them are in renovation and there is too much dust. Hope they finish soon before our next visit to the island!

3 Days Boracay Itinerary

As you will get to Boracay during the morning or the afternoon in the first day of your Boracay itinerary. We will not recommend you to join any island hopping and activities that can last the whole day. You can explore the beaches around Boracay.

It’s a must to take a look at White Beach around noon time since the colors are so blue and so perfect. You can also explore other beaches around like Diniwid Beach. If you go walking at the end of Station 1 in White Beach you will find Diniwid Beach 10 minutes walking distance.

To move around the Boracay Island you can get a tricycle and the electric jeepney as we mentioned above for transportation around Boracay. Make sure you go on time for the sunset at White Beach.

For the first day we recommend you to feel the vibe of Boracay having dinner around the beach and having a drink in the bars. Most of the bars and restaurants you will find them in Station 2 (affordable restaurants) also in Station 1 you will find them but can be little bit more expensive than Station 2.

Day 2 Itinerary in Boracay

For your Day 2 in your itinerary in Boracay we recommend you to visit Bulabog Beach for sunrise and after this you can join to an island hopping. There are a few options for island hopping: snorkeling and visiting Carabao Island in a day trip with activities.

And if you like party you can join the Party boat in Boracay. The party boat is only 2 days per week Thursday and Saturday and for more information you can ask in Mad Monkey Hostel in Bulabog area. Departure time is around 1 pm until sunset time around 6 pm.

Prices for island hopping to join a group are around 1000 PHP for the whole day. And prices for the party boat is 1800 PHP and it included unlimited beer and rum!

At night time you can visit the night market in Station 2 around D Mall. And have dinner over there. Prices are so affordable around the market and you can find budget meals starting for 80-100 PHP per person.

The night market will be the perfect place to buy souvenirs and pasalubong if you are interested. Also if you are looking for swimming suits and all the things related to snorkeling and swimming that you could need for your trip in Boracay island.

Day 3 Boracay Itinerary

For your 3 Day Boracay itinerary you can go in the morning to visit beaches in North area like Puka Beach and Ilig Illigan Beach. You can go by jeepney or tricycle or you can also do an island hopping to get there.

Ilig Illigan Beach is a paradise and it’s only 1,5 kilometers far from Puka Beach. It’s ideal one to spend the morning around Station 1 if you aren’t doing island hopping or other activities.

There are activities in Bulabog Beach where you can practice kite-surfing or in White Beach area at sunset time you can do paraw sailing. Having dinner with a view to the beach trying seafood and wine if you want to give you a luxury day in Boracay. There are a few restaurants in Station 1 where you will have the views of the beach. But it’s not allowed to have dinner in the beach anymore since the reopening in the white sand. Prices per per person for dinner can go from 300-600 PHP.

More Days Boracay Itinerary

If you are spending more days in your itinerary in Boracay we can recommend you activities like zip line, helicopter and ATV if you love the adventure. Helmet diving is a popular activity where you aren’t required to have experience diving before, mainly for taking underwater pictures with fishes.

Obviously you can do for snorkeling on your own if your mask or you can rent in Boracay. Also you can organize an island hopping or diving experience in Boracay. It will be so cool since the water is so clear.

And for last thing in your itinerary in Boracay you can treat yourself with a massage, having sunset in rooftop hotels in Boracay where is only required to have a drink. And if you are interested about Filipino food make sure you get cooking lessons in Boracay Island to know about the basics.

We really enjoyed taking underwater shots in Boracay. Since the water is so clear especially in White Beach, it’s inviting to take many pictures while swimming.

Boracay has a very relaxed atmosphere, so you can’t miss having a massage here. We had our couple massage and we enjoyed it so much! We did in Terra Wellness Spa at Discovery Shores Resort. It was amazing plus for the same price we got massage and they baby sit our kid!

The location is great, which is just less than a minute walking distance to the beach which allows you to have a proper rest at night at the same time because you are close to everything in Boracay. They organize Yoga classes every morning and they serve delicious Filipino breakfast.
