How to get to Gulhi Island by Public Boat

If you want to get from Male to Gulhi by public boat. You have to get to Villigili ferry terminal in Male and there are daily boats leaving to Gulhi and Maafushi at 3 pm except for Fridays (remember is a public holiday in the Maldives).

The ticket fare from Male to Gulhi costs $1.5 USD. The trip will take 1 hour and 30 minutes and the boat will continue to Maafushi Island 30 minutes longer. Viceversa Gulhi to Maafushi works in the same way.

How to get to Villinggili Feery Terminal

Apart from taxi, you can go by bus which costs $1.5 USD. You can also go by ferry less than $1 USD to the jetty port in Male. And from Male jetty port you can walk 15 minutes walking distance if you aren’t bringing so much luggage. Or you can just grab a taxi that will cost you $3 USD.

How to get from Male to Gulhi by Speed Boat (Maafushi to Gulhi)

There are a few speed boats leaving from Male to Gulhi. From the airport to Maafushi Island, they will stop in Gulhi Island. It takes 30 minutes to reach there and the prices are $25 USD. This option can be great if you are traveling in a group. Prices can be around $200 USD to reach Gulhi Island from Velana International Airport. You will be able to go from Gulhi to Maafushi since most of the speed boats and private boats will go in that direction.
