How to get from Male to Maafushi by Ferry
If you want to get from Male to Maafushi by ferry. You have to get to Villigili ferry terminal in Male. There are daily boats leaving to Maafushi at 3 pm except Fridays (it’s public holiday in Maldives don’t forget for transportation).
The ticket costs $1.5 USD. The trip will take you around 2 hours and it’s stopping by Gulhi island first to drop passengers.
On the way back there are two boats leaving at 7 30 am. Prices are similar around $2 USD. One boat is going direct to Male. And the other boat will stop in Gulhi Island. Both boats departure is in the jetty port in Maafushi Island.

How to get to Villingili Ferry Terminal
Apart from taxi you can go by bus which costs $1.5 USD. You can also go by ferry less than $1 USD to the jetty port in Male. And from Male jetty port you can walk 15 minutes walking distance if you aren’t bringing so much luggage. Or you can just grab a taxi that will cost you $3 USD.
How to get from Male to Maafushi by Speedboat
If you want to get from Male to Maafushi by speedboat. There are a few speedboats leaving from Male. There are also speedboats leaving from Male airport to Maafushi.
It will take 30 minutes to reach Maafushi Island and the prices are $25 USD. The best way to arrange them is thru your guesthouse in Maafushi.
How to get from Male Airport to Maafushi by Private Boat
This option can be great if you are traveling in a group. There are private boats leaving from Male Airport to Maafushi. Prices can be around $200 USD to reach Maafushi from the Velana International Airport.
