HOW TO GET FROM RIO DE JANEIRO AIRPORT TO CITY CENTER
AIRPORT BRT BUS FROM RIO DE JANEIRO AIRPORT TO CITY CENTER (CHEAPEST WAY)
The cheapest way from Rio de Janeiro airport to city center is by BRT bus. The BRT Buses are available 24/7 running every 15 minutes. The BRT bus fare is 4 BRL which is less than €1 and you will have to buy a Rio Card in the vending machine at the airport for 3 BRL (it’s mandatory to use the system in Rio and you can refund later).
The bus travel time from Rio de Janeiro airport to city center is around 1 hour and 20 minutes depending on the traffic. The BRT Buses are going with their own traffic line around the city but there are 50 stops coming from the airport. The buses are leaving at Arrivals Terminal 1 and 2 at Rio de Janeiro airport you will see them easily.
From Rio de Janeiro airport to city center you have to get the TransCarioca (Orange Line) and you can stop at Vicente de Carvalho Metro Station and Madureira Train Station.
From these places, you can connect to Leblon, Ipanema or Copacabana (most popular destinations for travelers) with the metro until your final destination in Rio de Janeiro. The metro ticket is only 4 BRL and you can use top-up in your Rio Card.
EXPRESS SHUTTLE BUS FRECAO FROM RIO DE JANEIRO AIRPORT TO CITY
You can go by shuttle bus from Rio de Janeiro airport to city center. The shuttle bus fare from Rio de Janeiro airport to city center is 19 BRL which is less than €3 per person and the buses are running every 30 minutes starting from 5 30 am until midnight.
The travel time by shuttle bus from Galeão International Airport to city center is around 40 minutes to 1 hour. You can pay with cash and with the Rio Card and see them in at the Terminal color Blue is called Frescao Buses for the locals.

The metro fare is starting from 4 BRL which is less than €1. The metro schedule at Rio de Janeiro is starting from 5 am to midnight and on Sundays from 7 am until 11 pm.

Escadaria Selarón is an amazing spot in Rio de Janeiro if you are looking for colorful pictures. Santa Ana is a neighborhood located near city center. In Escadaria Selarón you will find a great vibe, coffee shops and nice places to walk around.
RAINFOREST
Rainforest in Rio de Janeiro is located a few minutes outside the city. You can go for a walk and you will find waterfalls in a green area. Apart from the waterfalls after the Rainforest on the way back to Rio de Janeiro, you will find amazing views.
