The beautiful country of Barbados has two distinct kinds of weather: wet and dry. The dry season is from December to May. The best tropical beaches to enjoy during dry weather are Browne’s Beach and Bottom Bay. The hottest months in Barbados are May, June and August.

The average temperature during the month of June in Bridgetown is 27°C. Best to pack light clothing, and light layers when visiting Barbados at this time.

The wet season in Barbados is still a good time to visit. This happens from June to November. There’s always some rain to be expected during the wet season, but just like a lot of places with the distinct dry and wet seasons.

Peak season in Barbados

The peak/high season in Barbados runs from the month of mid-December until early the following year, in mid-April. This is a popular time for visiting Barbados, particularly for travelers looking for an escape from the colder winter temperatures in Europe and the United States.

A big pro of visiting Barbados in the peak season is that temperatures in the Caribbean tend to be milder, and it is also a lot less humid.

Peak season in Barbados is definitely very touristy. Peak / High season comes from Europeans and Americans trying to escape the cold weather/winter season in their countries.

And because Barbados will be very busy, choosing to stay during the peak season means you’ll have to book your accommodations in advance. Prices will be much higher during this season too.

Dry Months in Barbados

The Driest months are from February to April in Barbados. March is the driest month.

If you’re trying to avoid the peak season in Barbados, the best time to visit is between mid-December and mid-April, during Barbados’ dry season. There is less rainfall and temperatures average around 30°C.

Honestly, we can say that there’s no wrong time to visit Barbados, and it’ll just depend on your budget, and how many tourists you can actually tolerate when visiting this beautiful country.

July to October is the low season in Barbados. There are definitely fewer tourists during this time of the year, and prices become much more affordable, while you sacrifice almost nothing. Even with some rainfall, you’ll still find considerable time to have sunshine and enjoy the beach.

Shoulder season in Barbados

The shoulder season (May, June and November) is this one season in a lot of countries, where you can actually enjoy both advantages.

You get fewer people than in the peak season, and crowds are fewer (but still more than in the low seasons). Try to compare flights and accommodation prices to make the best decision on when to go to Barbados.

Barbados just screams bathing suits and bikinis and you know what, you are right. You can definitely get a lot of sunshine whatever time of the year you visit so you will never get wrong with bringing light layers during your trip to Barbados.

Bring a few pairs of your favorite swimwear and bikinis to enjoy the sun, the beach, and lounging around. Have day wears that you can use for daily activities around the island, and to have some nightwear for changing when you want to attend some casual dinners or parties.

Comfortable shoes and some sandals and you should be good. Make sure you have coverups too, so that you’ll always get protected from the sun. And light jackets are welcome during the rainy weather, light coverups and light layers – you can choose to have some waterproof layers too.

SKIN PROTECTION FROM THE HEAT AND THE SUN

In addition to proper summer outfits and clothes, packing for protecting your skin will be imperative. A sunblock with protection for UVA and UVB (for the best brands, choose a sunblock with triple +++) is very important.

You’ll have to re-apply your sunblock every 20-30 minutes, especially if you’ll be staying under the sun for a long time, so make sure you pack enough for your trip.

The sun will most likely affect your hair too, so best if you pack hair products and conditioners that will be good for protecting your hair. For your makeup, make sure that you have the right sunscreen and foundation for your skin.

Don’t forget your moisturizers and lotions, because skin can get dry pretty easy in this weather. If you choose to bring makeup in this trip, choose lip balms, lipsticks and chapsticks that are light colors or good for very sunny weather.

These will likely be lighter than darker. Just like your skin and body, your face will most likely need to stay hydrated, so mist sprays can be very helpful to keep your face refreshed all day long.

If you have hair dye or hair color, make sure you bring the appropriate products or consult your stylist on what products to bring to prepare your hair for the weather! Heat protectants will be very important especially if you will use a lot of blow dryers or iron in the trip, or even just for extra lounging time under the sun!

WATER BOTTLES

Keep your body hydrated! Instead of expecting to buy multiple water bottles for the duration of your trip, try to have a water bottle handy with you at all times so you can keep yourself hydrated and also be mindful of waste!

ACCESSORIES

Usually, what we do is have a bigger packing cube for clothes and casual outerwear. A separate one for underwear and swimwear. A separate packing cube for gadgets and devices (make sure that these are actually in waterproof containers), and a separate packing cube for toiletries and makeup.

PRE-TRAVEL PREPARATION

Ahh, the struggles of being a woman! Now, there are definitely a lot of ways for you to prepare, but since you can expect that you’ll spend a lot of time in bikinis and short wears, have your waxing appointments ready before your trip.

If you shave yourself, or you have your own shaving kits, make sure you bring these, with your creams to not have the stress later on during your trip.

You want to be swim ready at any moment! If you need some nail work done, brows, lashes, make sure you have these prepared too before your trip!

MEDICINE KITS AND OTHER EXTRAS

In addition to sunblocks, lotions, moisturizers, heat protectants, and tanning products, emergency supplies will always come in handy. Have some mosquito repellent and bug spray ready, in case the places you’ll stay at have these in the cooler evenings and your clothes make you more exposed to them. Medicines, vitamins, and essentials are always good to have in any trips too.

WHAT TO PACK FOR BARBADOS IF YOU’RE A CONTENT CREATOR..

Waterproof bags are definitely a must. You may want to bring your phones and camera gear near the water, or even in the water during this trip, so bring the appropriate waterproof day bags, and waterproof cases for your gear.

Even if you’re not a content creator, it is now very usual to bring your phones out with you in the water, so having protective cases and covers are a must!

Don’t forget your underwater or waterproof cameras if you’re planning to do a lot of shooting in the water!
