If you are following us on Instagram, you would know that we recently visited Dumaguete, the capital of Negros Oriental. It was our first time to visit the city and there were so many surprises and things to do in Dumaguete we encountered.
We were coming from Cebu after visiting Kawasan Falls and we stopped in Dumaguete for a few days before going to Siquijor. There were a few Dumaguete tourist spots that we didn´t want to miss and also local food to try in Dumaguete and we will tell you in our Dumaguete travel guide.

We loved Dumaguete City since there are Dumaguete tourist spots, a few local places to eat there and you can visit the market and enjoy its beaches. It is also a quiet, peaceful place. What we liked the best in Dumaguete is it’s convenience when traveling to nearby provinces like Siquijor, Apo Island and Oslob, which is a must when visiting South Cebu.

DUMAGUETE BEACHES: BEST BEACHES IN DUMAGUETE
1. MANJUYOD SANDBAR
You can rent a boat for 4000 PHP good enough for 15 people island hopping going to Manjuyod Sandbar . Apart from the sand bar you can visit the Bird Sanctuary, Mangrove Forest and dolphin watching. 2. APO ISLAND
Visiting Apo Island is a must if you are traveling to Dumaguete. Apo Island is famous because of the turtles swimming around the beach. There were many of them and we spent more than an hour snorkeling.
We got really nice shots and who enjoyed the most was our little one, Han, because it was his first time seeing and swimming with turtles.

We visited a very beautiful beach in Apo Island and took stunning shots of the aerial view with the drone. The day was really awesome. You can even stay in the island for overnight camping. There are restaurants around but there is no electricity in the island. It was such a cool adventure!
3. SUGAR BEACH
Sugar Beach is located in Sipalay North Dumaguete. It’s a quiet beach with clear waters. Perfect for swimming and relaxing. There are places to stay around if you decide to stay overnight. Click here to check prices and availability!
4. BAYAWAN BEACHES
Bayawan City is bounded by the South Sulu Sea. Bayawan Beaches are located in Negros and it’s the perfect place if you want to relax just a few kilometers from the city. The water is blue with white sand and if you love beaches around Dumaguete is a must to visit.
5. DAUIN BEACH AND BACONG BEACH
Just a few kilometers outside Dumaguete City you can enjoy the relax of swimming in the beach. It’s perfect for snorkeling and also if you want to book your diving experience in Dumaguete. The beaches are of protected marine sanctuaries you will have to pay a fee for doing snorkeling but it will be totally woth it.
There are a few resorts in the area if you want to stay for a couple of days. You can also enjoy Bacong Beach in the same area walking distance.

6. PUNTA BALLO BEACH IN SIPALAY
Punta Ballo Beach located in Sipalay in the Sulu Sea. The beaches are quiet and you can also go diving booking in the resorts. The sunsets are amazing! It can be the perfect getaway from Bacolod City.
7. CAMPOMANES BAY
Campomanes Bay is located just a few minutes by boat from Punta Ballo (beach above in the list Best Beaches in Dumaguete). It’s a protected marine sanctuary. It will be the perfect place to enjoy diving and even good place for snorkeling too.
8. TAMBOBO BEACH AND ANTULAG BEACH
Tambobo and Antulag Beach is located in Negros Oriental 40 minutes drive from Dumaguete City. It’s a quiet and beautiful beach perfect for swimming and relaxing. You can stay overnight in the resort. Click here to check rates and availability!
9. LAG-IT BEACH
Lag-it Beach is located 45 minutes driving from Dumaguete City. It closed to Manjuyod Sand Bar. You will find 7 kilometers long white beach to enjoy swimming in blue water.
10. NAGBO-ALAO BEACH
Nagbo-Alao Beach is located in Basay, Negros Oriental. Just two hours driving from Dumaguete. A perfect area to enjoy walking around the beach and swimming. There are a few resorts if you want to stay overnight.
