Best time to visit Mumbai

The best time to visit Mumbai is in winter from September to March. From March to June can be really hot in Mumbai. The rainy season is in July and August if you prefer avoiding them. Mumbai One Day Itinerary: Things to do in Mumbai

1. Visit Gateaway of India

It’s crowded and they have security system since there were a terrorist attack a few years ago around the area. There are trains, buses and taxis going there. It’s more than an hour distance from the airport.

2. Taj Mahal Palace

One of the most popular luxury hotel in India. You can go around since they have shops. You can take a look shopping or having tea if you prefer. It’s so beautiful!

3. Walking around Colaba

In Colaba area is full of places to stay for all the budgets. There are many hostels where you can stay for affordable prices. Many places to eat around and perfect place to get your SIm Card or planning your trip in India. You will find all the information around the area.

4. Visit Elephanta Island

Boats are leaving from getaway of India. Prices per person can be 200 INR per person for a return ticket depending on the boat that you choose. Once you get to the island there is an entrance fee 600 INR for foreigners and 40 INR for locals. The first ferry leaves at 9 am and last one at 2 pm from India Getaway. To come back the first ferry leaves at noon and last one at 5 30 pm. It takes one hour ferry ride.

5. Victoria Station

There are a few popular beaches like Juhu and Versova Beach. You can just walk around is always crowded and great place to have dinner at night since there are many options for affordable prices.

7. Watch Playing Cricket

There are many places where people are playing cricket. Just relax take your time and stay there for a few minutes watching them. If it’s a local neighborhood you can even play if you wish.

8. Watch a Bollywood Movie

If you like movies you have to watch a Bollywood movie. There are a few cinemas around. Even you don’t understand you will have fun with the music, acting and dancing in the movie.

Where to Stay in Mumbai

You can get the local train just 15 minutes walking distance if you want to avoid the traffic in Mumbai. There are also tuk tuk to move around and you can get Uber and Ola for transportation. We loved the design of the rooms, the views with a palm tree gave us a tropical vibe plus we had an hammock for this too. The neighborhood is quite and calm. We liked the food there Western and Indian choices all good for affordable prices. Plus in the hotel they organize events which you can join like talk comedy shows. Even is India with little bit mix of English. You will learn about Indian society with their jokes and stories.
