How to get to Surigao from Cagayan de Oro

If you want to get to Surigao from Cagayan de Oro. You have to first take a bus or a van going to Butuan City. The fare will be 400 PHP and will take 6 hours there are a few daily buses and vans. From Butuan City you will have to ride a bus or a van going to Surigao.

The fare will be 210 PHP and will take less than 3 hours of travel time. There are also a few daily buses and vans. Prices are similar, buses have more comfort and the van is usually faster than the bus.

How to get to Surigao from Camiguin

If you want to get to Surigao from Camiguin. You have to ride a ferry from Benoni Port in Camiguin going to Balingoan Port. It will only take 1 hour and 40 minutes. The fare is 205 PHP. From Balingoan Port you can either hire a private van to take you directly to Surigao or take a bus to Butuan, it costs 230 PHP for 3 3-hour journey.

From Butuan, you can ride a bus 250 PHP for 3 hours or van 170 PHP for 2 hours and a half to take you to Surigao directly. Both will stop in the bus terminal 3 kilometers far from Surigao city center. You can ride a tricycle from the terminal and there are multicabs going to Surigao city for 10 PHP. 

This is the way that we did coming to Camiguin Island on the way to Surigao City where we spent a few days before going to Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte.

How to get to Surigao from Siargao Island

If you want to get to Surigao from Siargao Island from Dapa Port in Siargao. You will have to take a ferry to Surigao Port. Regular ticket rate is around 300 PHP while for children who are 3-7 years old is half of the price.

Estimated travel time is 3-4 hours and there are a few ferries per day. We got lucky and we got a Peso fare going from Surigao to Siargao Island and we were able to do it for 100 PHP each of us.

How to get to Surigao from Davao

If you want to get to Surigao from Davao the fastest way is to booking a flight. It’ll cost at least 3,000 PHP one way. But it will only take a few hours since you have to do a stopover in Cebu. The longer but the cheapest way is to travel via bus.

It’ll take 9 hours and the fare price ranges from 480 PHP to 700 PHP depending on what type of bus you are riding. So it can be worth it going by bus if the stopover in Cebu is long you will be able to save a few pesos and it will take same time. It depends on the comfort that you want and the budget for the trip.
