HOW TO GET TO LAUSANNE
There are daily buses and trains going from Geneva to Lausanne. If you drive from Annecy, Grenoble to Lausanne and from main of the places around like Lyon in France will be 2-3 hours by car.

LAUSANNE ITINERARY DAILY BUDGET TRAVEL
There are many ways to explore this Lausanne itinerary. You can go walking around Lausanne or getting public transportation for around 2€ a single bus ticket if you are visiting the lake. You can go by bicycle too and electric scooter since there are many ways for this.
There are meals in Lausanne at local restaurants for as low as €20-30. Those who want to eat something a bit fancier can have a meal at a mid-range restaurant for around €40-60 or even less if you have someone to split the bill with. Dinner at a top restaurant in Lausanne can go for €70-150.
There are all sorts of accommodations in Lausanne. From hostels and B&Bs to apartments and hotels, you’re sure to find one that fits your budget. For example, staying at a hostel or booking a dorm bed goes for around €40. A room at a mid-range hotel or a nice apartment can cost around €100-150.
Luxury hotels in Lausanne can charge €200 and higher. If you want to stay somewhere comfortable and safe minus the cost, you can always try AirBnB in Lausanne. There are entire apartments that go for as low as €100.

Lausanne Cathedral was built in 1170 by and restarted construction until 1215. A great place where you can see beautiful views from the city outside Lausanne Cathedral.

Viewpoints are a must in the things to do in Lausanne to get the views of Notre Dame Cathedral from the top. You can go by bus or by car and hiking if you prefer. It’s easier going down and you can always follow the road and look at Lausanne Cathedral so you will not get lost. In the viewpoints you can relax, enjoy the views and have a snack.

Olympic Museum is one of the best things to do in Lausanne especially if you follow sports. You will enjoy with the history and the current times in Olympic Museum.

5. Place de la Palud

Sauvabelin Tower is a wooden tower located in the Sauvabelin forest where you can get the panoramic views of Lausanne. Sauvabelin Tower was built in 2003 and it’s 35 meters high you will have 150 steps to get to the top. There is no entrance fee at Sauvabelin Tower and it’s one of the best Lausanne tourist spots.
17. Try Chocolate at Blondel
Blondel is one of the oldest and most typical place in Lausanne to try chocolate. We all know how popular and delicious is the chocolate in Switzerland. Just look for the shop and treat yourself!
18. Musee des Beaux Arts
Musee des Beaux Arts is a beautifully modern space as part of Lausanne’s art. Musee des Beaux Arts is located near the train station and the building from the outside is really beautiful. There is no entrance fee at Musee des Beaux Arts.
19. Collection de l’Art Brut
Collection de l’Art Brut is a donation from Jean Dubuffet, a French artist and collector. If you love art Collection de l’Art Brut is one of Laussane tourist spots that you have to visit.
Collection de l’Art Brut entrance is 12 CHF for adults and 6 CHF for kids. You can get free entrance if you purchase the Swiss Museum Pass. Opening hours from 11 am to 6 pm daily and closed on Mondays from September to June.

20. VINEYARD TERRACES
I loved Vineyard Terraces just right after Lausanne where you can get beautiful views of the Lake and the vineyards. If you wish trying local wine or buying you will find a lot of shops for this.
21. Château de Chillon
Château de Chillon is located on Lake Geneva (Lac Léman between Montreux and Villeneuve. Chillon Castle is one of the most visited castles in Switzerland and Europe and the best road trip from Lausanne. Château de Chillon entrance fee is 15 CHF for adults.
Geneva is only one-hour driving distance from Annecy. A small city perfect for visiting in the same day and exploring a new country in Switzerland. Easy to walk around and full of bars and restaurants.
One of my favorite road trips from Lausanne is Monthey two hours driving. And where I was exploring the little villages with so impressive views. Perfect for the weekend in summer since is quiet and busy in the winter with the resorts for skiing.
Annecy is one of the best road trips from Geneva and Lausanne. It will take 2 hours driving and the town has many things to do like enjoying bars and restaurants, cruising with a boat or relaxing around the lake. A perfect stop before going to Switzerland.
