The cheapest way from Moldova to Transnistria is by mini bus. There are mini buses from Chisinau to Transnistria running every 20-30 minutes starting from 7 am until 6 pm. The buses are leaving from Gara Centrala (Chisinau Bus Terminal) just behind the Central Market in Chisinau.

The total travel time by mini bus from Chisinau to Tiraspol in Transnistria is around 1 hour and 45 minutes. The mini bus fare is 50 MDL which is $4 USD and you can buy the tickets in Chisinau Bus Terminal.

The mini bus will do a quick stop at the border and you will get your Migration Card (free of charge). Even Transnistria isn’t officially recognized as a country just make sure you are bringing your passport.

I would say summer is the best time to visit Moldova. The weather is warm and it’s perfect for outdoor activities. Summer lasts from the end of May until mid-September. If you want to experience the winter in Moldova, visit here in November until the end of April. But we are warning you of the strong cold air that can be up to -20 °C!
