Port Barton is located in San Vicente Palawan. Just half of the way between Puerto Princesa and El Nido. Port Barton it’s not a developed town yet! BEST TIME TO VISIT EL NIDO

The best time to visit El Nido is during summer. Summer in the Philippines starts from March to mid-May. Just expect the prices to be high because it is peak season. Also expect the number of tourists to be high during this time.

You can also visit El Nido from December to February as the skies are clear and rain is minimal. Check this website for real-time weather updates.

HOW TO GET FROM PORT BARTON TO EL NIDO BY VAN

If you want to get from Port Barton to El Nido the best option is by van. There are a few companies like Recaro and Lexxus going from 8 am to 5 pm to Port Barton. Prices are around 650-750 PHP for 4 hours van ride. Click here to book your seat!

HOW TO GET FROM PORT BARTON TO EL NIDO THE CHEAPEST WAY

If you want to get from Port Barton to El Nido the cheapest way. There are jeepneys going to Roxas from Port Barton for 150 PHP and it will take 2 hours to reach Roxas. From Roxas you can get a bus to El Nido 3-4 hours ride and it will cost you 170 PHP. This way will take you around 8 hours total travel time.

And it will cost  320 PHP in total. So you can save half of the price than the van. We did once this way getting the jeepney from Port Barton early morning. We were waiting for the jeepney from 7 am and it left at 8 am and getting to Roxas ten minutes before 10 am.

From Roxas the bus left at 11 am and to get to El Nido at 4 pm. If you want to budget is a great option. But you will miss the whole day by public transportation. It depends on your budget and your comfort. Personally I recommend this way if you aren’t bringing so much luggage enjoying a day in public transportation.

If you like adventure and you don’t have so much luggage you can rent a motorbike going from Port Barton to El Nido. Prices of renting a motorbike are around 500-600 PHP per day.

Sea Cocoon Hotel is the top bed and breakfast according to Trip Advisor in the whole of El Nido. We had 3 good nights with them. They have an internet connection in the hotel which is quite challenging when traveling in El Nido so we were really satisfied with our stay.

HAPPINESS HOSTEL

Located in El Nido, within half a kilometer of Big Lagoon El Nido and half a kilometer of Small Lagoon El Nido, Happiness Hostel provides accommodations with a shared lounge and free WiFi. All guest rooms in the hostel are equipped with a electric tea pot. The rooms come with a shared bathroom. Guests at Happiness Hostel will be able to enjoy activities in and around El Nido, like cycling. Their dormitory style beds are only $16 a night!

ISLAND FRONT COTTAGE AND RESTAURANT

This property is a 12-minute walk from the beach. The beachfront Islandfront Cottages and Restaurant is a peaceful retreat in El Nido. It features a variety of recreational options and air-conditioned rooms with a private balcony. The colorful rooms have wood furnishings and vibrant wall prints. Each unit is fitted with a sitting area and a flat-screen cable TV. Shower facilities and free toiletries are in the attached bathroom. Guests can snorkel, go on a fishing trip or cycle to explore the area. Barbecue facilities are also available. The staff at the tour desk can assist with tickets and car rental arrangements. The Islandfront Restaurant serves a spread of local dishes and beverages. In-room dining is possible with room service. Their standard double room starts at $20 a night.

This property is 1 minute walk from the beach. Offering a terrace and views of the sea, Blue Mango Resort is where guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Coron Beach is a short 30 m away, while the famous Las Cabanas beach and El Nido Centers are 10 minutes away. Rooms include a private bathroom. 

There is a shared lounge at the property. Guests can enjoy various activities in the surroundings, including snorkeling, windsurfing and diving. Their double deluxe room starts at $104 a night.

We love the choices they have in El Nido that start from as low as 700 PHP per night in a dorm. You can get a room as ceap as 1200-1500 PHP. Cool, right?
