Kumarakom Lake Resort A Review

Kumarakom Lake Resort is located an hour and half far from Kochi in Kerala. The area is quiet and calm. Kumarakom Lake Resort is so beautiful and we will explore and write about in our Kumarakom Lake Resort review.

Apart from the activities around the lake there is not too much to do. There are places to eat and a few stores to buy snacks outside the resort. So if you go there you will spend most of the time in the resort which is great since there are a few things to do around.

How to get to Kumarakon Lake Resort

 

Kumarakom is closed to the Cochin International Airport. The second nearest airport is at Trivandrum 170 km away from . The railway station of Kottayam is less than 20 kilometers far away.

First Impressions and Facilities at Kumarakom Lake Resort

The welcome was great with a fresh coconut while the staff will accommodate you and explain about the facilities of the resort. Kerala has coconuts everywhere and it’s a must to try them.

We really liked to hear the effort of Kumarakom Lake Resort to avoid using plastics. They filter their own water and it’s a model to follow not many resorts are doing this.

Room

We got a room with views to the pool anytime you can go for a swim. All the comfort that we needed. And in front of the pool which is extended all over the hotel for a few rooms. Internet was working great and it allowed us to catch up with work during our staying at Kumarakom.

We loved it the shower outside the construction in wood in the room and all the decoration.

Activities to do in Kumarakom Lake Resort

We will start with the complimentary activities. The daily tea which is served outside unless it’s raining that they will transfer to the restaurant. The tea and coffee was great and we enjoyed watching how they prepare it. They served a few snacks with the tea and the coffee. The snacks were so delicious and served us as introduction to Indian food.

After the tea time you can go for a sunset cruise. They will organize the activity before dinner. And it was relax and peaceful riding the boat around the lake.

You can also organize day trips or even stay overnight in the boats. The hotel will organize for you. It looks like an amazing experience to do around the lake.

Food at Kumarakom Lake Resort

The breakfast was great with local and Western choices. We tried both of them. So many choices from bread, cheese, fruits and they can even cook eggs and omelette for you if you wish.

We loved it the desserts in Kumarakom Lake Resort. And we liked it to try curries and local dishes that we never tried before.

Will go back again?

For sure we enjoyed a lot and we would love to have more time for the activities. The food was great and the place in contact with the nature. The staff super helpful and friendly. We loved it the pool area and you can see our picture above.
