Island Hopping in Siargao Island (Travel Guide)

If you are planning to do an Island Hopping in Siargao Island from General Luna, there are a few options. You can get a tour from the guesthouse or the resort and they will organize everything for you and including a nice lunch. Island Hopping in Siargao

You can also do by your own renting a boat for 1500 PHP for 6 people maximum. Apart from 1500 PHP for the boat you have to add 50 PHP environmental fees and 30 pesos entrance for Guyam Island. The island hopping in Siargao Island includes Naked Island, Daku Island and Guyam. The tours are flexible and they allowed you 4-5 hours as much as you need until the sunset time.

It takes 20 minutes from the small pier to reach Naked Island. It’s called Naked Island because is empty, it’s nothing about no clothes! The water is so blue and the island so small and it’s perfect for relaxing, swimming and taking pictures. We stayed in Naked Island one hour and a half and it was fine for us. Bring your sunblock because there is no place to cover from the sun in Naked Island.

From Naked Island there is a 20 minutes ride to Daku Island where you can have lunch. The island is busy since most of the people go for lunch and they stay long time. There are cottages for renting 250 PHP or 150 PHP for renting a table for your lunch. They sell food and drinks but if you prefer you can bring your own. Don’t forget to look for a local and drink a fresh coconut for 50 PHP. There is a part of the island where you can swim or play volleyball you can also decide to take pictures around the palm trees or walking around.

 

From Daku Island we left to Guyam which was also busy since most of the people chose as last stop of the Island hopping to see the sunset. You have to pay an entrance fee 30 PHP and they sell drinks, soda and water since it’s so hot the weather. You can stay in Guyam Island taking pictures and swimming until the sunset which will be the perfect moment to go back to General Luna and it will take just 10 minutes boat ride to reach the pier.

Island Hopping in Sugba Lagoon

It was one of our favorite island hopping in Siargao Island. To get Sugba Lagoon from General Luna you have to get to Del Carmen port which is 45 minutes motorbike ride. Once you are there, you have to rent a boat which costs 1500 PHP maximum 6 people. There are extra options to the itinerary like Kawhagan Sand Bar and Pamomoan Beach that will cost you 2000 PHP for the boat. Apart from this you have to add 100 PHP for Sugba Lagoon entrance fee and docking fees. If you go 4-5 people the island hopping to Sugba Lagoon will cost you 500-600 PHP with the extra destinations mentioned above.

The tour will last until the sunset. Stay for 3 hours in Sugba Lagoon then you can rent your snorkeling gear and paddle board for 200 PHP. And one hour in Kawhagan Island and other hour in Pamomoan Beach. You have to bring your own food and the best place to have lunch in Sugba Lagoon where you can rent a table for this and leaving your belongings while enjoying paddling board, jumping or snorkeling.

We liked so much this island hopping apart from Sugba Lagoon, we almost didn’t find people in the other places. 

Island Hopping Corregidor Island

For the island hopping in Corregidor Island there are a few options. You can join a tour and they will organize for you. You can go only to Corregidor Island and you will maybe include also Naked Island, Daku and Guyam Island. Prices are around 1500 PHP if you include the three islands and Corregidor Island and can be around 1000-1200 PHP if you join an organized tour. They will include fees and a great lunch.

If you want to do on your own you can have the option of renting a boat in General Luna around 2000-2500 PHP and maximum 6 people. They will not include fees and lunch and you will have the option to add extra islands like Naked Island, Daku and Guyam, you will negotiate that with the boat.You can also rent a boat from Dapa for around 1000 PHP to Corregidor Island and maximum 6 people, they will not include lunch and you will only visit Corregidor Island.

Once you are in Corregidor Island you can go around the town and hiking to the top of the mountain. Another option is relaxing in the beach in Corregidor Island. If you decide to visit only Corregidor Island you will have enough item to walk around the market, hiking between the coconuts and why not snorkeling in the beach.

Island Hopping Sohoton Natural Park in an organized tour

Sohoton Natural Park was an amazing place to discover combining the beauty of the place with the adventure of the caves, snorkeling and amazing drone shots.

You will have different options for this tour. This time we decided to join to an organize tour from General Luna. Prices were 1800 PHP for locals and 2000 PHP for foreigners and they included an amazing lunch and the fees of Sohoton Natural Park, Daku, Naked Island, and Guyam Islam.

The departure to Sohoton National Park was at 7 am and it took 2 hours to get to Sohoton Natural Park. Once there, we got a guide and a small boat to go around the jellyfish sanctuary but it wasn’t the season and we couldn’t see jellyfish. The landscape was great and you can do snorkeling there. This activity last around 20 minutes.

We also got a boat and a guide to explore the caves in Sohoton. We did two caves with crystalline water and last one included a jump. The visit to the caves took around an hour and when we were back they prepared an amazing lunch for us with pork, fish, vegetables and fruits.

After lunch is the worst part of the tour 2 hours sailing and it was little bit wavy until reaching Naked Island, Daku and Guyam. For these three islands, they allowed us 30-40 minutes each to finally go back to General Luna at 5 pm.

Sohoton Nation Park Island Hopping on your own

There are other options to do on your own in Sohoton National Park. You can rent a boat in General Luna for maximum 6 people and it costs 3500-4500 PHP you have to negotiate if you want to inckude other islands or only going to Sohoton Natural Park. You will have to pay 200 entrance fees in Sohoton and also pay for all the ours organized there. There are tours that they include a boat an a guide to explore the caves but if you join a group will not be so expensive.

You can also go to Dapa and get a ferry to Socorro at 7:30 am. It costs 100 PHP and this is the cheapest option to visit Sohoton Natural Park. After the ferry around one hour you have to hire a boat to explore Sohoton Natural Park around 2000 PHP and maximum 10 people. Apart from this you have to hire guides and pay permits to go inside the park but it will cost you cheap if you join more people. The problem with this budget option that you will have to spend the night in Bucas Grandes since you will not find a ferry to go back to Dapa or General Luna.
