Living up to that impression are the concoctions prepared by herbalists during the lenten season. It is said that the potions and ointments prepared during Black Saturday in Siquijor have the ability to ward off evil spirits lurking about during the days that Jesus Christ is dead. Healers from all over gather in Siquijor to attend the creation of this concoction and the product is distributed to the participating healers then to the spectators who bring their own containers.
