The MRT from Changi Airport is our favorite option. The metro schedule from Singapore airport to city center is running every 7-12 minutes depending on the schedule of the day and starts at 5 51 am to 11 18 pm. You will find the MRT in the basement of Terminals 2 and 3 in Changi Airport. Check MRT schedule and route!

The MRT from Singapore airport to city center fare is around $1-2 SGD depending on your final destination. The travel time by Metro MRT from Singapore Airport to Singapore city center is around 30 minutes. You will have to change the train at Tanah Merah Station to Tuas Link-bound or Pasir Ris-bound train.

You can get the Metro tickets in the vending machines and you will have to pay a 10 cents deposit for the card and you can get back when you return your metro card or a discount in the next trip in the metro in Singapore.

If you pay with an EZ-Link Card you will get discounts in every ticket by public transportation in Singapore. You can also pay with a Singapore Tourist Pass.

Maybe you have to get the Sky Train from Changi airport to MRT Station at Changi airport starting from 5 30 am to 2 30 am and it will take 5 minutes to connect between terminals in the airport.

There is also a shuttle bus connecting Terminals 2 and 3 from 5 30 am to 2 30 am and it’s going to Gate E and B. There is also a shuttle bus connecting Terminal 4 in the airport available 24 hours from Terminal 2 in Arrivals.

East West Line (EW)

The Green Line is going from Joo Koon (EW29) and Pasir Ris (EW1). You need to change at Tanah Merah and is great if you are going to Bugis area, Singapore City Hall and Chinatown.

North South Line (NS)

The Red Line is going from from Marina South Pier to Woodlands. It will be great if you are going to Marina Bay and Orchard Road especially.

Circle Line (CC)

The Orange Line is great for going from Marina Bay to Sentosa. Passing by for Botanic Gardens and Kampong.

North East Line (NE)

The Purple Line is going from Harbor to Sentosa, Clarke Quay, Chinatown and Little India.

Downtown Line (DT)

The Blue Line from the north to Chinatown. It’s great for visiting Downtown, Bugis Little India and the Botanic Gardens.

The public bus from Singapore airport to city center is the slowest option with similar price than MRT. It will take around 1 hour and 30 minutes from Changi airport to your final destination.

The bus fare from Singapore airport to city center is around $2 SGD. The buses are running from Singapore airport to city center every 8-12 minutes starting at 6 am until 11 pm. The buses are available in the Terminals 1, 2 and 3 and also in Terminal 4.

If you are planning to stay a few days in Singapore and move around by public transportation we recommend you to get an EZ Link Card. Prices are around $10-12 SGD depending on where you buy with $5-7 SGD credit. You will get more credit and cheaper price in the MRT than 7 Eleven.

The EZ Link Card will provide discounts in your rides and you can top up in stores like 7-Eleven and MRT you will be able to get a refund of the card when leaving Singapore.

The shuttle bus from Changi Airport is a comfortable option especially if you are traveling alone. It will take 25-30 minutes from Changi Airport to city center. The shuttle bus fare is around $9 SGD for one way for adults and $6 SGD for children. The shuttle buses are running every 15-30 minutes from Singapore airport to city.

It will drop you off in most of the hotels and you can buy the ticket in Ground Transport Desk at the arrivals. If you are traveling with more people will be better to get a Grab or a taxi since prices are similar.

Taxi/Grab From Singapore Airport To City Center

If you go from Singapore airport to city center by taxi the most comfortable, available 24/7 and fastest way. The travel time by taxi is around 25 minutes and the taxi fare Singapore airport to Singapore city center is around $20-35 SGD. The prices and travel time aren’t fixed and it will depend on traffic and your final destination.

Expect to pay around $15-25 SGD to Bugis area, $20-35 SGD to Orchard area one of the most popular places to stay in Singapore. If you pay by cash it will be the same amount but if you pay by card it will increase 10% the price of the taxi plus 7% of the admin fee.

There are other companies apart from Grab which is the biggest in Singapore. You can check them out: TADA, Kardi, Urge, Go Jek and Ryde. You can pay by cash or credit just you will notice in advance when ordering the car.

The best way from Singapore airport to city center in my opinion is by MRT just change the train until your final destination. You can also take the bus if it’s stopping near your hotel or Airbnb accommodation. These options if you travel on a budget will cost you only $2 SGD per person for one way.

So far I took by MRT, Bus, Private Transfer from the hotel and Grab depending the time that you are getting to Singapore and your budget for sure!

If you are traveling alone and you want comfort you can go for a shuttle bus for $9 SGD cheaper than a taxi. If you are traveling in a group or with so much luggage you can get a taxi or Grab from Changi airport.
