TUK TUK FARE FROM PHNOM PENH AIRPORT TO CITY CENTER

Tuk-tuk fare from Phnom Penh airport to city starts from $6-16 USD and it’s good enough until 4 people. Prices will depend if you get the tuk-tuk outside the airport you can get for $6 USD if you get them in the main road on Russian Federation Boulevard.

But inside the airport prices can be starting from $10 USD. The prices can be $10, $13 or $16 USD depending the area of your final destination in Phnom Penh city center.

The areas in Phnom Penh are Wat Phnom, Riverside, Street for $10 USD, Central Phnom Penh for $13 USD and Across Tonle Sap River is $16 USD.

The tuk-tuk will be less comfortable than the taxi and it will take 40 minutes to reach city center. If you are bringing so much luggage and 4 people will hard to fit. We find an authentic option to go around in Cambodia.

PHNOM PENH AIRPORT TO CITY BY MOTORBIKE TAXI

The cheapest option from Phnom Penh airport to city center is by motorbike taxi for $6-7 USD inside the airport. This option will be the best if you are traveling alone and with not so much luggage. It will take 30 minutes and it will be cheaper $3-4 USD if you take the motorbike taxi outside the airport. 

TRAIN FROM PHNOM PENH AIRPORT TO CITY CENTER (BEST WAY)

The train is the best option from Phnom Penh airport to city center and is a $2.5 USD one-way ticket per person. The train will take 25-30 minutes to get to Phnom Penh Railway Station 10 minutes walk to city center.

The airport train from Phnom Penh airport to city center started in 2018 and there is no regular schedule but it’s supposed to leave every 30-40 minutes.

It’s a great option if you are staying near Phnom Penh Railway Station and so far no need to book online your train ticket.

GRAB FROM PHNOM PENH AIRPORT TO CITY CENTER (OUR OPTION)

You will be able to book Grab and prices start from $8-10 USD from Phnom Penh airport to city center little bit cheaper than the taxi. You will have to get data connection since Grab drivers aren’t allowed to stop inside the airport like in Denspasar Airport in Bali.

You need to download the app and order Grab service and wait for them outside at Russian Federation Boulevard only 100 meters distance. It can be a car or a tuk tuk when you order Grab being cheaper the car than the tuk-tuk.

Airport KKStar Express Bus from Phnom Penh airport to City center

The Airport KKStar Express Bus is operating from 9 am to 6 pm daily from Phnom Penh airport to city and runs every 30-60 minutes. The Airport KKStar Express Shuttle Bus is $5 USD. You can purchase the ticket in the airport counter or to the driver but only cash is accepted!

There are only 7 stops Red Line and Orange Line with the last one is at Tokyo Inn Red Line in central area in Phnom Penh and Sofitel in Orange Line. It will take 30-45 minutes depending on the traffic.

Public Bus Phnom Penh airport to city (Cheapest Way)

The cheapest way from Phnom Penh airport to city is by public bus. The Public Bus Number 3 from Phnom Penh airport to city will cost 1500 Cambodian Riels which is only 40 cents of USD. They only accept cash and small bills. The last stop is the night market in Street 106.

You will have to get the Bus in the Russian Federation Boulevard outside the airport. It will take 1 hour or even more if there is traffic since there are a lot of stops. The City Bus Number 3 starts operating from 5 am to 8 30 pm running every 15 minutes.

BEST WAY FROM PHNOM PENH AIRPORT TO CITY CENTER

The best way from Phnom Penh airport to city center is by train for $2.5 USD one-way ticket per person and it will take 25-30 minutes.

The best way from Phnom Penh airport to city center is by Grab App, taxi or book a private transfer for $10 USD you can split with more people especially if you are traveling in a group or with too much luggage (this is the option that we chose) and only 30 minutes travel time.

If you go on a budget and travel light the best option from Phnom Penh airport to Phnom Penh city center is by bus or train for $1-2 USD which is perfect to interact with locals. It will take more than one hour travel time to get to your accommodation

If you travel alone the Airport KKStar Express Bus for $5-6 USD from Phnom Penh airport to city center is a great choice since is around 30-40 minutes travel time!
