HOW TO GET FROM TBILISI AIRPORT TO DOWNTOWN
AIRPORT BUS FROM TBILISI AIRPORT TO CITY CENTER (CHEAPEST WAY)
The cheapest way from Tbilisi airport to city center is by bus. Bus Number 37 is leaving from Tbilisi airport to city center running every 15-20 minutes starting from 7 am until 11 pm.
There are buses running from Tbilisi airport to city center every 40 minutes at night time. The bus fare from Tbilisi airport to city is 0.50 GEL which is less than half euro.
The bus travel time from Tbilisi airport to city center is around 30-45 minutes depending on the traffic. The buses are leaving at the Arrivals Hall on the right side walking 200 meters at Tbilisi airport you will see them easily in Blue Color.
You can buy the bus ticket inside the ticket machine in the bus but there is no change (only coins accepted).
The final stop of the bus from Tbilisi airport to city is Freedom Square where you can go walking distance to Tbilisi Train Station and most of the places of accommodation in city center. You can also get M1 at Liberty Square Metro Station.
Train From Tbilisi Airport To Tbilisi City Center (Best Way)
The train from Tbilisi airport to city center takes 35 minutes but there are only two services running at 7 55 am and 4 55 pm. If you are getting to Tbilisi airport in that schedule you will have to walk two minutes outside the airport following the signs.
Once in the city center you can go walking or taking the metro or bus to your accommodation. The train fare from Tbilisi airport to city is 0.50 GEL which is half of the euro same price as Bus Number 37.

Tbilisi Metro has two metro lines: Metro Line M1 Akhmeteli-Varketili and Metro Line M2 Saburtalo Line. The metro in Georgia starts at 6 am until midnight. The trains are running every 2-3 minutes during the day and every 12 minutes at night time.
You will have to buy a Metromoney Card for using the metro in Tbilisi that costs 2 GEL around €1. Metromoney Card you can top up and you will get better prices. The tickets cost 0.50 GEL valid for 90 minutes including transfers.

Metromoney Card costs 2 GEL which is €1 and you can top up credit. You can use the Metromoney card in the metro and bus in Tbilisi. You can buy the Metromoney card in the metro station and each journey costs 0.50 GEL in local buses, metro and even the cable car for 2 GEL.

New rules metro money or travel card required for bus 337 from airport(and all transport). Able to purchase at metro stations, yes...what about at the airport at 8pm ...arrival time....is this possible and where. Cannot buy from "pay box", can only top up?
