How To Get From Quito Airport To Downtown
Bus From Quito Airport to City Center (Cheapest Way)
There are buses going from Mariscal Sucre International Airport to Quito city. The final destinations are Rio Coca Terminal and Carcelen Terminal in the North. And Quitumbe Terminal in the South of Quito.
The total travel time from Quito airport to city center will be around 90 minutes. The bus fare from Quito airport to city center by bus is only $2 USD.
You have to pay attention that the buses from Rio Coca Terminal, Carcelen Terminal and Quitumbe Terminal are far from city center around 6-12 kilometers.
If you get a local public bus will cost only 25 cents of USD but it will take 1 hour. If you go by taxi expect to pay $5-7 USD for the ride depending on your final destination.
From Rio Coca Terminal buses start at 5 30 am to 10 pm and from Quitumbe Terminal buses start at 5 30 am to 7 pm. The total travel time can be 2 hours or 2 hours 30 minutes if you go by public bus from Quito airport to Quito city center.

Thanks for the info on the airport bus. One point that might be worth mentioning is that the price is more of your hotel is not in the city centre. I’m staying at Selina and it’s an extra $5 on top of the $8.
