Best Time of Year to Visit

If you’re looking to travel to Tunisia during clear, rainless skies, with temperatures between 18°C to 27°C, when you can do lots of touristy activities outdoors, it is best to visit Tunisia from mid April to late June, and from late September to mid November. Last week of May is probably the most touristic time in Tunisia.

BEST TIME TO VISIT THE SAHARA DESERT IN TUNISIA

Tunísia, Tunisia camels in the desert, What To Wear In Tunisia, Tunisia Packing List, What To Pack For Tunisia

Because temperature in Tunisia can get really high during summer, the best time to visit the Sahara Desert, one of the most destinations in the world, is between October and May. The later in the year you plan to visit, the hotter it gets.

If you plan to visit in December or January, evenings in Sahara Desert in Tunisia can get really cold, and even freezing at times so it is very essential to wear appropriate clothes for this time of the year.

TRAVELING TO TUNISIA DURING RAMADAN

What to wear in Tunisia during Ramadan? In Muslim and Islamic countries, special holidays need to always be accounted for when planning your trip. Ramadan is a special month-long fast for the Muslims, and although tourists are not expected to fast with the locals, shops and banks will be closed and most of the cafes and restaurants don’t open until end of the day, when the locals end their fast and eating and drinking resume.

The end of the Ramadan might be a good time to visit too, so make sure you do your research when observing these holidays. Check the current weather before you visit, and know the best time to travel in Tunisia.

WHAT TO WEAR IN TUNISIA BASED ON RELIGION

What to wear in Tunisia? Tunisia is a Muslim country, and this fact is important when it comes to thinking about what you should pack and wear, especially for women.

One big thing to always think about when traveling is knowing what are the biggest culture and traditions of the country you are visiting. For example, Muslim countries will have a lot of rules they follow about their religion, and same for India. These beliefs we believe are important to uphold or at least to be properly aware of, to maintain proper de quorum wherever you are traveling. Especially for women, abiding by some of these rules might just save yourself a lot of unwanted attention, and in extreme cases, save you from danger and judgment.

What to wear in Tunisia as a women and men the traditional djellaba and headscarf. In women, their clothing are loose, and long, hiding their knees and elbows, and their hair. Now, these are not necessary for tourists, however, wearing clothes that are not too tight and revealing and have sleeves, and are not too short are more appropriate for women.

WHAT TO WEAR IN TUNISIA BASED ON THE SEASON AND WEATHER

As a country with extreme weather, summers can be really scorching in Tunisia. Light layers with comfortable fabric will be the best. Wear cotton and linen fabric to stay comfortable and to also stay fresh. Wouldn’t hurt if you have spare clothes.

Having a jacket, and cardigan, or additional layers that you can use as a coverup if you’re wearing thin layers as your base clothing, or you’ll need something to protect you from surprise cold winds, or showers will be very helpful.

FOOT WEAR

A good pair of sandals or slippers will be enough for a travel packing for a trip to Tunisia. If you’re doing a lot of walking, especially in the desert, or during the scorching summer, make sure your shoes are comfortable enough for this type of weather.

SKIN PROTECTION FROM HEAT AND THE SUN

In addition to proper summer outfits and clothes, packing for protecting your skin will be imperative. A sunblock with protection for UVA and UVB (for the best brands, choose a sunblock with triple +++) is very important. You’ll have to re-apply your sunblock every 20-30 minutes, especially if you’ll be staying under the sun for a long time, so make sure you pack enough for your trip.

The sun will most likely affect your hair too, so best if you pack hair products and conditioners that will be good for protecting your hair. For your makeup, make sure that you have the right sunscreen and foundation for your skin. Don’t forget your moisturizers and lotions, because skin can get dry pretty easy in this weather. If you choose to bring makeup in this trip, choose lip balms, lipsticks and chapsticks that are light colors or good for very sunny weather.

These will likely be lighter than darker. Just like your skin and body, your face will most likely need to stay hydrated, so mist sprays can be very helpful to keep your face refreshed all day long.

If you have hair dye or hair color, make sure you bring the appropriate products or consult your stylist on what products to bring to prepare your hair for the weather! Heat protectants will be very important especially if you will use a lot of blow dryers or iron in the trip, or even just for extra lounging time under the sun!

WATER BOTTLES

Keep your body hydrated! Instead of expecting to buy multiple water bottles for the duration of your trip, try to have a water bottle handy with you at all times so you can keep yourself hydrated and also be mindful of waste!

ACCESSORIES

What to wear in the Tunisia unless you’re looking to attend high end parties where it’s important to be bringing a lot of bling and jewelry, best to keep accessories at a minimum on your Tunisia holiday. Most of what you’ll need will be sunglasses, and hats and caps to protect your face and to add to your outfit during your stay.

A day bag will also be good to have, to bring with you on some activities in Tunisia. In any trip, we suggest to keep your valuables – money, credit cards, passports, identification cards, and other valuables in secure containers to avoid any theft — a general rule for any travel.

BAGS, CONTAINERS, LUGGAGE

What to wear in Tunisia talking about bags and luggage, depending on how long you’re planning to stay in Tunisia, a small hand luggage or small suitcase should be enough. This, a day bag, packing cubes, and water proof protectors are all you’ll need.

What To Wear In Tunisia, Tunisia Packing List, What To Pack For Tunisia

What are packing cubes you say? One of the biggest packing hack that we swear by is dividing your luggage in packing cubes so you can go from packing to unpacking, to packing again in no time. Organization will be a breeze, and you will minimize stress when you’re trying to look for your things on a holiday.

Usually, what we do is have a bigger packing cube for clothes, and casual outer wear. A separate one for underwear and swimwear. A separate packing cube for gadgets and devices (make sure that these are actually in water proof containers), and a separate packing cube for toiletries and makeup.

PRE-TRAVEL PREPARATION

Make sure to schedule these appointments before for your trip, in case they are very important for you. Facials, waxes, dental, any other grooming and personal appointments should be done appropriately.

MEDICINE KITS AND OTHER EXTRAS

In addition to sunblocks, lotions, moisturizers, heat protectants, and tanning products, emergency supplies will always come in handy. Have some mosquito repellent and bug spray ready, in case the places you’ll stay at have these in the cooler evenings and your clothes make you more exposed to them. Medicines, vitamins, and essentials are always good to have in any trips too.

WHAT TO PACK FOR TUNISIA IF YOU’RE A CONTENT CREATOR..

Water proof bags are definitely a must. You may want to bring your phones and camera gear near the water, or even in the water during this trip, so bring the appropriate water proof day bags, and water proof cases for your gear. Even if you’re not a content creator, it is now very usual to bring your phones out with you in the water, so having protective cases and covers are a must!

Don’t forget your underwater or water proof cameras if you’re planning to do a lot of shooting in the water! A snorkeling mask is always a great idea to enjoy. Bring yours from home and you will have available all the time to see the underwater life in Tunisia.
