There are daily trains going from Zurich to Liechtenstein. If you drive from Zurich will be 1 hour and a half by car. I went during my road trip from Zurich to Liechtenstein and it was around 1 hour and a half driving in the highway.

There are many ways for exploring this Liechtenstein itinerary. You can go walking around Liechtenstein to most of the places like Vaduz or getting public transportation for around 2€ a single bus ticket to move to other destinations in Liechtenstein. You can go by bicycle too my favorite one and electric scooter since there are many ways for this.

There are meals in Liechtenstein at local restaurants for as low as €20-30. Those who want to eat something a bit fancier can have a meal at a mid-range restaurant for around €40-60 or even less if you have someone to split the bill with. Dinner at a top restaurant in Liechtenstein can go for €70-150.

There are all sorts of accommodations in Liechtenstein. From hostels and B&Bs to apartments and hotels, you’re sure to find one that fits your budget. For example, staying at a hostel or booking a dorm bed goes for around €40. A room at a mid-range hotel or a nice apartment can cost around €100-150.

1. Vaduz Castle

Vaduz Castle is the official residence of the Prince of Liechtenstein. You can’t access inside the Castle. But you can go to the top to get the beautiful views of Vaduz. You can go until the entrance by car or even walking to the top. Vaduz Castle is the most popular in the list of Liechtenstein tourist spots.

2. Get The Views From the Top of Vaduz

The best views from Vaduz you can get from the top of the castle. You can park your car and walk around but making sure that you don’t go inside the castle. The views are so green and even with snow when I was visiting. For sure one of the best things to do in Liechtenstein.

3. Instagrammable Places in Vaduz

You can walk around Vaduz city center taking pictures and looking for instagrammable places in Liechtenstein. My favorite one is the square near the City Hall in Vaduz. The day I was visiting it was rainy but so quiet and I could enjoy Vaduz all for myself.

4. City Hall in Vaduz

Vaduz City Hall is pretty and it was built in 1932. You will find in the main walking street in Vaduz and you can go inside to check around. From outside the façade is beautiful to take a picture.

5. Walking Around Vaduz

Walking around Vaduz city center is less than one kilometer. So you can go up and down in a few minutes to find beautiful spots. You can also hire a bicycle and go to the castle and more places around Liechtenstein.

6. Wine Tasting in Liechtenstein

You can enjoy a wine tasting in Liechtenstein the most popular vineyard in Vaduz is Herawingert. The tours takes 30-45 minutes and it costs 9 CHF with a few wines included.

7. Rivers And Lakes in Liechtenstein

There are a few rivers in Liechtenstein and the Lake Gampriner Seele. In summer time you can have a swim and enjoy a picnic. The green areas in Liechtenstein are always ready with tables around for you to spend the day.

There are a few castles around Liechtenstein as I mentioned above Vaduz Castle that you can’t go inside. The castle in the picture is Gutenberg Castle in Balzers in the Southern part of Liechtenstein. Gutenberg Castle is opened as a museum and you can get beautiful views of the town.

Hiking is a must in the list of the list of things to do in Liechtenstein. In every town you will find small hikes to reach the top views. They are usually easy but get ready with proper shoes and clothes since the weather is so rainy in Liechtenstein.

Meeting locals is my favorite anywhere I go. I managed to have a local friend and I was helping him and after he brought me for a walk to show me Balzers and tell me interesting things about Liechtenstein.

Trying local food is a must in the list of things to in in Liechtenstein. The cuisine is pretty similar to Switzerland food in German part. The most popular dishes: Torkarebl is a porridge boiled and fried with butter and Hafalaab is a soup with wheat, dumplings and bacon.

16. ZURICH

The most popular day trip from Liechtenstein is Zurich. It will take less than an hour by train and little bit longer if you drive from Liechtenstein to Zurich. You will enjoy Lake Zurich, museums and walking around old town. It will be great if you are looking for nightlife bars and restaurants too.

17. LAKE ZUG

Lake Zug will take you more than one hour driving from Liechtenstein. You can swim around the lake or hike up to enjoy the views. The water is so clear and the greens scenery is so perfect for taking pictures and enjoying a day.

18. BERN

The day trip from Liechtenstein to Bern is a must if you visit Liechtenstein for more days as I can recommend you. It will take around two hours driving or even less if you go by train. Bern has beautiful parks and it’s a nice place to walk around, enjoying swimming around the river or the nightlife.

19. JUNGFRAUJOCH

Jungfraujoch will take you the whole day as a day trip from Liechtenstein. Jungfraujoch is 3400 meters high and you will get amazing views. Also you will have to visit the popular Sculptures at the Ice Palace.
