How to get to From Cebu to Moalboal

By Bus from Cebu to Moalboal (Cheapest Way)

The cheapest way from Cebu to Moalboal is by bus. From the South Bus Terminal, there are buses going from Cebu City to Moalboal.

The bus fare from Cebu to Moalboal is around $3 USD. These are local buses with no air conditioning but work just fine.

There are buses with air conditioning will cost around $4 USD. They stop by various terminals in around every 20 minutes so going to Moalboal from Cebu will take 3-4 hours, depending on the traffic.

Once you reach Moalboal, it will take you 3-4 kilometers to reach White Beach and Panagsama Beach. Tricycle fare is around $2 USD.

If you are a foreigner, some tricycle drivers may try to charge you double. There is no exact price. It really depends on how honest your driver is, ha! My main tip for these situations is you should start walking until you find an honest guy who will give you a fair price.

Cebu Airport to Moalboal Best Way

The best way from Cebu to Moalboal is by shared van or private transfer. If you want to go direct from Cebu Airport to Moalboal. The most comfortable way is by private transportation, taxi and Grab and it will cost you around $60-80 USD you can book online.

It will take you 3 hours depending on the traffic to get from Cebu City to Moalboal. This option can be great if you are traveling with a few people or with a lot of luggage. Check below to read more details about this.

How to get from Malapascua to Moalboal

If you are leaving Malapascua to Moalboal, first you have to go to Cebu City following next steps:

Boat to Maya which takes 20 minutes and it costs 100 PHP. The boats are leaving every 30-40 minutes with not exact rule.

You can take a bus or a van from Maya around for about 200 PHP until the North bus terminal in Cebu. Buses are cheaper than the van but slower. You can save more than an hour if you are traveling by van.

From North Bus terminal you have to go to South Bus terminal in Cebu and it can cost you around 150 PHP by Grab or taxi. It can be cheaper if you go by jeepney and you will have to take 2-3 jeepneys to reach South Bus Terminal in Cebu.

From Cebu South Bus Terminal, you have to take the bus to Moalboal and later the tricycle to reach Panagsama Beach. It will be a long day in the road plus the waiting time until the transportation is leaving and it will take you 7-9 hours to reach Moalboal. So if you can catch 6:30-7 am boat leaving Malapascua it will be a great option.

How to get from Bantayan Island to Moalboal

If you are coming from Bantayan Island to Moalboal. It´s similar than coming from Malapascua to Moalboal. You have to go to Cebu City first.

First you need to take the ferry to Hagnaya for 200 PHP for an hour’s journey. Once in Hagnaya a bus to Cebu City around 200 PHP and it will take you 3-4 hours to go to North Bus Terminal.

From North Bus terminal you have to go to the South Bus terminal in Cebu and it can cost you around 150 PHP by Grab or taxi. It can be cheaper if you go by jeepney and you will have to take 2-3 jeepneys to reach South Bus Terminal in Cebu.

From Cebu South Bus Terminal, you have to take the bus to Moalboal and later the trycicle to reach Panagsama Beach. It will be a long day in the road plus waiting time until the transportation is leaving and it will take you 7-9 hours to reach Moalboal. Try to get the first ferry from Bantayan leaving around 6 am.

How to get from Dumaguete to Moalboal

If you are coming from Dumaguete to Moalboal after spending amazing time in Apo Island or Siquijor Island. We will give you the steps to reach Moalboal.

First you need to get to Sibulan port in Dumaguete by jeepney or by tricycle. It will take you around 20 minutes.

Boats are leaving from Sibulan to Santander every hour. It costs 70 PHP for 30 minutes journey. Once in Santander, you have to get a tricycle to reach Bato Bus Terminal. From the Bus Terminal to Moalboal, it will take around 2 hours and it will cost you around 90 PHP the bus.

Once in Moalboal you have to get a trycicle to reach Panagsam Beach where are most of the accommodations in Moalboal.

How to get to Moalboal from Oslob

If you are staying in Oslob where you can see the whale sharks, you have to get a bus to Bato Bus Terminal which will take you around 2 hours and will cost you around 100 PHP. From Bato Bus Terminal you have to get another bus to Moalboal as we mentioned above coming from Dumaguete. Another 2 hour bus for 90 PHP to reach Moalboal.

How to get from Siquijor to Moalboal

If you are coming from Siquijor to Moalboal you have to go to Dumaguete first. The ferry costs around 200 PHP for an hour journey. Once in Dumaguete, you have to follow same steps mentioned above to reach Santander and Bato Bus Terminal. From Bato you will get a bus to Moalboal and the tricycle to your final destination.
