Bus From Cusco Airport to Cusco City Center (Cheapest Way)
The cheapest way from Cusco airport to city center is by bus. There are public buses from Cusco airport to city center. The buses are stopping outside the airport. Just head to the Gas Station in the road and buses will stop there going to Cusco city center.
The bus fare from Cusco airport to Cusco city center is $1 Sol which is less than $1 USD. The travel time from Cusco airport to Plaza de Armas in Cusco city center is around 30-40 minutes by bus.
You will have to go with little luggage and they are totally safe if you are on a budget and you want to save some money to avoid getting a taxi. There is no fixed schedule but you will see small buses passing by outside the airport.
I would recommend you speak at least a few words in Spanish to communicate properly and always be careful with your belongings. Make sure that you don’t bring so much luggage since there is a small space in the public buses in Cusco.

Taxi from Cusco Airport To Downtown
The taxi fare from Cusco airport to downtown will be around 10–12 PEN which is $3 USD. The travel time from Cusco airport to downtown by taxi is around 20 minutes.
The taxis will try to charge you more than 12 PEN at the airport. The taxis will have to pay 2 PEN parking fee for leaving and they will ask you to do it. But you don’t have to pay for it just if you feel comfortable with this.
If you go outside the airport and you stop a taxi in the road where the buses are leaving too. The taxi fare will be around 8-10 PEN going from Cusco airport to your hotel in downtown.
Cabify, InDriver And Uber Cusco Airport To Downtown
You can order thru Cabify App, InDriver and Uber a car from Cusco airport. The cost will be similar than a taxi or maybe little bit cheaper. Make sure you have data in your phone since sometimes is complicated to meet your driver at the airport.
The travel time will be 20 minutes from Cusco airport to city center depending on the traffic and your final destination. Prices will be between $2-4 USD.
BEST WAY FROM CUSCO AIRPORT TO CUSCO CITY CENTER
The best way from Cusco airport to city center if you are on a budget and traveling light is getting the buses from outside the airport for 1 Sol which is less than half of $1 USD and 30-40 minutes travel time.

Plaza de Armas in Cusco is our favorite one in South America. You can just go around or enjoy the views from a coffee shop. Plaza de Armas is full of life and it’s a perfect meeting point to walk around looking for restaurants, shopping and taking photos.
SAN BLAS VIEW POINT IN CUSCO
San Blas view point is our favorite one in Cusco. There are a couple of restaurants and coffee shops where you can enjoy the most beautiful sunset in Cusco. You will have to go up, take it easy because with the altitude takes time.
SAN BLAS NEIGHBORHOOD
San Blas Neighborhood is perfect for walking around and taking pictures. Full of coffee shops and restaurants you will love it in Cusco only 10 minutes walking distance from Plaza de Armas.
SAN PEDRO MARKET IN CUSCO
San Pedro Market is the best place to try local food, fruits and buying souvenirs. In Ssn Pedro Market you will find almost everything from juices, and chocolates to local food. Prices in San Pedro Market are cheaper than in Cusco city center and it’s only 5 minutes walking distance to Plaza de Armas.
EATING CUY IN CUSCO
Eating Cuy is a must in Peru since is the local’s favorite dish. To be honest, Cuy was good but not our favorite in Peru. You will have to try for sure! Prices are around $7-10 USD per dish coming with noodles, salad and French fries.
EATING CEVICHE IN CUSCO
Eating Ceviche in Cusco is must if you love to try local food. Ceviche with fish and onion is so tasty. We really loved it Ceviche and prices were starting from $4-5 USD per a dish.
Qorikancha
Qorikancha is located just 5 minutes walking distance from Plaza de Armas. Qorikancha is one of the historical sites in Cusco if you want to learn about the Incas history and culture. Qorikancha is beautiful and we can totally recommend you to visit.
Sacsayhuaman
Sacsayhuaman is the most popular ruin inside Cuco city. Sacsayhuaman is located only 2 kilometers far from the city. Sacsayhuaman is a nice place to walk around, get great views to the city and to learn about the Inca culture.

The official currency of Peru is called Peruvian Sol (PEN). And $1 USD=3.75 PEN. ATMs and exchange offices are available all throughout the city. And it is also advisable to withdraw as much as you can because fees for transactions tend to be higher for foreign cars. Banco de la Nacion is the only bank that isn’t charging commissions for foreign cards in Cusco and Peru.
