Bus From St Petersburg airport to City Center (Bus To Moskovskaya Metro Station)

If you want to get the bus from St Petersburg airport to city center will be the cheapest way. You will have to ride the bus and metro. There are 3 buses leaving Pulkovo airport to city center: 39Ex, 39 and K39.

Bus 39Ex

The bus 39Ex starts at 5 25 am until 12 20 am. The Express bus from St Petersburg airport takes 20 minutes to get to Moskovskaya metro station. 39Ex is running every 25-30 minutes and the bus fare is 40 RUB which is 0.60 cents of USD.

The bus 39 starts at 5 30 am until 1 30 am. The Bus Number 39 from Pulkovo airport takes 40 minutes to get to Moskovskaya metro station. The Bus 39 is running every 12-20 minutes and the bus fare is 40 RUB which is 0.60 cents of USD.

Minivan K39 (Marshrutka)

The Minivan K39 (Marshrutka) starts at 7 am until 11 pm. The Minivan K39 from St Petersburg airport takes 15-20 minutes to get to Moskovskaya metro station. Minivan K39 leaves every 10-15 minutes and the van fare is 50 RUB which is 0.70 cents of USD.

Moskovskaya Metro Station to Nevskiy Prospekt

Once in Moskovskaya Metro Station take the blue line to reach St Petersburg city center to Nevskiy Prospekt. It will take 1 hour and the metro fare is 55 RUB which is 0.80 cents of USD. The metro in St Petersburg starts at 5 30 am until 1 am.

The total travel time will be 1 hour and 30 minutes and the price will be $1-2 USD total of 85 RUB depending the exchange rate which is so affordable taking the bus and metro from Pulkovo airport to city center. Make sure you pay attention to the name of the Metro Station and don’t get confused. You will go up and down with stairs and the metro is so beautiful and great experience.

This is my favorite way bus from St Petersburg airport and metro to city center for 1 hour 30 minutes and less than $2 USD. It will be a problem if you have so much luggage because you have to transfer a few times.

Taxi And Private Transfer From St Petersburg airport to city center

The taxi from St Petersburg airport to city center will be the most comfortable way. It will cost around 1300-1500 RUB which is around $20 USD during the day and $25 USD at night time. The travel time is around 30 minutes by taxi from the airport.

You will find them 24/7 in the airport and you can book in the counter to avoid scams. I will recommend you going by public transportation. But if you are in a hurry or with so much luggage will be the best option the taxi from Pulkovo airport to city center.

UBER/YANDEX AIRPORT TO DOWNTOWN

If you are ordering Uber in St Petersburg you should know that prices are similar than taxi. Russia usually uses Yandex app. You can pre book with the app from your phone and going to the pick up point in the airport. Expect to pay around $20-25 depending on your destination and time of the day with Yandex from St Petersburg airport to city center.

CAR RENTAL AT ST PETERSBURG AIRPORT

There are many options for renting a car in St Petersburg’s airport. It’s the most convenient option if you have a place to park your car in St Petersburg. It will take you 25 minutes to get to St Petersburg from the airport with a private car. There are a few agencies like Hertz, Avis, Centauro available in the airport. Prices are around €30-40 per day.

Car rental option can be great if you are traveling with a few people or a lot of luggage and planning to visit places around St Petersburg. Make sure you have parking place in your hotel or Airbnb since sometimes can be so challenging in St Petersburg.

BEST TIME TO VISIT RUSSIA

I would say summer is the best time to visit Russia. The weather is warm and it’s perfect for outdoor activities. Summer lasts from the end of May until mid-September. If you want to experience the winter in Russia, visit here in November until the end of April. But we are warning you of the strong cold air that can be up to -50 °C!

You can also visit during spring (from mid-April to end of May) and autumn which is also a short season in Russia (from end of September to beginning of November).
