How To Get To Lake Bled

The best way to get to Lake Bled from Ljubljana is by car only 35 kilometers North from the capital of Slovenia. If you aren’t getting here by car or taxi you can get by bus from Ljubljana or by train until Bled and later you will have a long walk or getting a bus to get to this Lake Bled hike.

Where To Park in Lake Bled

First of everything you will have to park your car. There are a few parking spots near the camping. If you are staying around Lake Bled in the camping or in a hotel you will be able to park the car at your accommodation. In my case I parked the car in the camping. I just asked where to park and they allowed me to park for free because they don’t have license to charge. So perfect for me because they also told me where to start Ojstrica Hike.

Where To Start Ojstrica Hike

This is the exact point where you will start hiking to Ojstrica viewpoint next to the camping just two minutes walking distance everything is well indicated.

You will not hike more than 5 minutes without seeing any sign during the hike in the forest. As you can see you will not get lost. I did the hike in autumn as you can see in the pictures.

Ojstrica Hike Step By Step

You will have to hike from the starting point 15-25 minutes depending how fast you go and the conditions of the path until 480 meters. It can be slippery if it’s been raining. But it’s really easy and only the last part is very steep 3-4 minutes climbing up to reach the viewpoint where you will get the best view of Lake Bled.

Once you reach Ojstrica viewpoint you will have a place to rest and admire the views. You can take pictures, videos since the best Lake Bled viewpoint you will not get tired of it!

On the way back you can keep hiking to Mala Osojnica Viewpoint what can be 30 minutes to reach 670 meters. If you have time and you love hiking just go for it. If you are in a hurry you can move for next activities in Lake Bled like renting a boat, swimming or just walking around.

Best Time To Visit Lake Bled

The best time for visiting Lake Bled is summer during the months of June-August in these months will be also the peak season and you’ll experience a high temperature. For sunrise and sunset will be amazing to do the hike! And you will be able to swim and do all the activities the rest of the day.

And Spring season during the months of March-May is also great time. You can even see snow around the lake and enjoying the hikes around.

What To Bring For Hiking Around Lake Bled

Lake Bled hike is short and it will not take long. But make sure you are wearing proper shoes since it can be slippery. Make sure you bring water and you can bring a small picnic to enjoy the views of Lake Bled. If it’s winter for sure winter clothes and don’t forget your camera to take beautiful pictures.
