Bes Time To Visit Siquijor Island

The best time to visit Siquijor is around November to May as these are the driest months here. Those who just love warm weather especially when taking a trip to the beach should note that April to June are the hottest months of the year.

Siquijor’s low season falls on June so you might want to book your trip at this time to catch deals and promos from hotels. Just be wary of weather disturbances since this is already the rainy season in the Philippines.

How To Get From Cebu To Siquijor

HOW TO GET FROM CEBU TO SIQUIJOR BY FLIGHT

If you want to get from Cebu to Siquijor by flight Air Juan offers three weekly flights from Cebu to Siquijor. Prices are around 3000 PHP and the flight takes around 40 minutes to get to Siquijor Island. The airport is located 5 kilometers west of Siquijor town. And it has only domestic flights.

Travel Tip: Check online before your trip if this option is available. Since they have been a few flights canceled lately with this company!

You can also get a fly from Cebu to Dumaguete with CebGo, click here to check the best deals with Skyscanner. There are three daily flights prices are around 1500-2500 PHP. The flight will last 50 minutes.

Once in the airport in Dumaguete you will have to go to the ferry terminal and get the ferry to Siquijor. Fast ferry 300 PHP and travel time 1 hour. The regular ferry 2 hours and prices around 150-170 PHP.

Cebu To Siquijor By Ferry

The fastest and best option traveling from Cebu to Siquijor by ferry is booking online the tickets. First you will have to book Cebu to Bohol 700 PHP from 7 am to 9 am. And From Tagbilaran to Larena Pier in Siquijor 10 20 am to 11 40 am and it costs 700 PHP.

The main problem there is only one daily ferry from Tagbilaran to Larena in Siquijor leaving at 10 20 am.

How To Get From Cebu to Siquijor By Bus (Cebu-Dumaguete-Siquijor)

If you want to get from Cebu to Dumaguete. From Mactan International Airport you can get a taxi, Grab or take public transportation to South Bus Terminal.

You can take a direct bus (Ceres Bus) from Cebu City South Bus Terminal in Cebu (located close to Elizabeth Mall) to Bato Terminal in Santander. Prices of the buses 270 PHP plus 85 PHP for the ferry from Bato to Sibulan which is 40 minutes by ferry.

The bus will stop in Dumaguete City where you can get a tricycle 20-30 PHP to the port. From Dumaguete to Siquijor you can get a regular ferry for 150-170 PHP and 2 hours to get to Siquijor. You can also get the Fast Boat for for 300 PHP which will be 1 hour journey to Siquijor.

Once in Siquijor Port to get a tricycle to San Juan area where most of the accommodation is will cost 150-200 PHP.

With this option total travel time can be 6-7 hours and it can costs around 550-700 PHP depending on your option fast or regular ferry going from Dumaguete to Siquijor.

Ferry Schedule Dumaguete Siquijor

Fast boat will leave first one at 12 20 am every 2 hours until 5 pm. There are only 3 Fast crafts. The price is 300 PHP and it will take 1 hour.

There are regular ferries from Dumaguete to Siquijor starting from 5 30 am to 2 pm which is the last one. Ferries are leaving every 1-2 hours and the travel time to Siquijor port is 1 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Cebu To Siquijor Bus And Ferry (Cheapest Way)

If you want to travel from Cebu City to Siquijor the cheapest way. The second option you will have to ride a bus to Liloan from South Bus Terminal. The travel time is 4.5 hours.

Once in Liloan you will take a ferry to Sibulan. It will take 30 minutes and it costs 70 PHP. Once in Sibulan, you will then ride a jeepney/tricycle to Dumaguete City. And from the city you have to ride a jeepney or a tricycle to Dumaguete port. Once in the port Fast craft as we mentioned above 300 PHP for 1 hour or regular ferry for 150-170 PHP around 2 hours.

The whole trip will take you 7-9 hours depending on the traffic and the waiting time for buses, jeepneys, tricycles and ferries. Once in Dumaguete port you will get a ferry or a fast boat going to Siquijor.

New Option Available Ferry Liloan to Siquijor

A new option will allow you to get the ferry Liloan to Siquijor getting at Larena port. You can also buy the ferry ticket at Liloan Port. The ferry costs 200 PHP and it will take 3 hours. The departure of the ferry is at 10 am.

Larena Port to Siquijor Port

The area of Larena is quiet and there are a few places to stay. It’s close to Siquijor port. If you are coming from Larena port to Siquijor port. It’s only 10 kilometers far away from Siquijor port and 20 kilometers from San Juan Beach area.

You will find tricycles, there are also jeepneys going from Larena Port to Siquijor Port. Or you can rent your own motorbike.

SIQUIJOR PORT TO SAN JUAN

Once you get to Siquijor island. You can ride a tricycle to go around and take you to your accommodation in San Juan for 150-200 PHP. Or you can even rent your own motorbike for $7 USD or less per day.

Renting a motorbike can be the best option to move around Siquijor. If you aren’t confidence with a motorbike there are tricycles to move around Siquijor Island. Prices for renting a motorbike in Siquijor Island are around 500 PHP per day.

WHERE TO STAY IN SIQUIJOR

We stayed at Lagkaw sa Sawang Homestay. The place is quiet, peaceful and has all the comfort you’ll need. It´s perfect for backpackers. Your cottage costs 750 PHP per day which is just around $15 USD.

The homestay comes with some clean towels, kitchen with plates and cutlery, and a water heater for tea, coffee or noodles. Everything was very clean and prepared with care.

It is also very relaxing to chill outside the cottages. There are tables, a hammock, and palm trees all around. So beautiful! It’s a 10 minutes away from the beach on foot but you can always rent a motorbike so you can move around the island from your resort.
