When you run a business, it’s important to regularly organise team-building activities for your employees. Team building is so important as it gives your employees a chance to bond together outside of the working environment. It gives them a chance to see a non-working side of each other as well as forget about the hustle and bustle that working brings – when teamwork goes well, you’ll hopefully see an increase in productivity which will have the knock-on effect of your revenue and profits increasing.

When you look into team building activities, there are so many different types that you can choose. For companies with a lot of active people, an activity holiday such as kayaking or hiking the Camino de Santiago, may be perfect. If your employees enjoy drinking, a cocktail master class or wine tasting can be options and for employees who are looking to simply relax, a spa break will do exactly that.

To help give you some inspiration, below we look into the different types of team-building activities for the workplace.

If you have an active group of employees, then a team-building activity can be very different to a company that doesn’t. For those who fancy an active team-building activity, you could do a kayaking session, a football session, a running session or a swimming session. Depending on how big your team is, you could try something different like a hike or a volleyball class.

Having a drink after work with your team is a very common thing done – who doesn’t like a drink after all? If you find the majority of your staff enjoy drinking, then this may be the route you go down. For those who enjoy drinking, you could organise a cocktail masterclass, where you get to learn about the different cocktails and create a few of your own. Alternatively, a wine masterclass could be something you do or a beer-tasting session. Reach out to your employees and see which one they would prefer.

The employees who want to relax

There is nothing better than relaxing and forgetting about the hustle and bustle of everyday life, especially work. Work can get stressful and employees can be at risk of burnout if they are being overworked. Instead of going down the route of an activity or cocktail-making activity, why not organise a spa break? At the spa, you can enjoy a meal together and catch up whilst relaxing in the pool or sipping on a glass of wine in the hot tub.

The above is just a touch of the many different types of team-building activities in the workplace. When you start to do your research, you’ll find a plethora of additional things that you can do.
