You will have to walk outside the airport following the signs to reach Mascot where you can get Bus Number 392 or the train to Circular for $4 AUD.

If you ask me the best way from Sydney airport to Circular Quay I would choose by regular bus since a single ticket will cost around $4 AUD plus the train $4 AUD. It will take 1 hour and 20 minutes since you need to walk 15 minutes outside the airport to get the Bus Number 400.

The bus is cheaper than the train and the Sydney airport shuttle $17-20 AUD so you will save around 1 hour time. It’s up to you depending on your budget and how much luggage you are bringing.
