We will write how to get from Stockholm airport to city center. The distance from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to city center is 45 kilometers and the travel time from Stockholm airport to city center is around 20-30 minutes by train.

Arlanda Airport Bus is running by private companies. The buses are leaving every 10–15 minutes from 6 30 am until midnight (at night buses can leave every 45 minutes). The ride from Arlanda airport to city center (Cityterminalen) takes around 45 minutes and free wifi. The Arlanda Airport Bus is starting from Terminal 2 but will stop in the others too (you will find them easy outside the airport).

The Arlanda airport bus fare is €11.30 (120SEK) and you can buy online in advance (sometimes even half of the price with Flixbus) or to the bus driver with card no cash. You can have one luggage included and they will charge you 20 SEK for an extra bag. Children up to 7 years old are free of charge.

Public Bus 583 Plus Train 42X or 41 From Arlanda Airport

You can take the Public Bus 583 from Terminal 5 at Arlanda airport to get to Märsta Station. The public bus plus train fare from Arlanda airport is 4€ and the travel time is around 20 minutes and you can get the train 42X or 41 it will take another 40 minutes more to reach Central Train Station.

The fastest way from Arlanda airport to city center is by train. The total travel time is only 20 minutes to Stockholm Central Station (Stockholm C). The train is connected in all the Terminals at Arlanda airport. You can buy the tickets in the vending machine at the airport

Arlanda Express fare is €28 which is 299 SEK for one way and 579 SEK for a return. Children until 7 years old are free of charge and up to 25 years old they will pay half of the ticket 149 SEK for one way. The fast trains are leaving every 10-15 minutes from the airport and out of the city from 5 am until 1 am.

Regular Train From Arlanda Airport To City Center

The regular train fare from Stockholm airport to city center is 151 SEK around €15 and the total travel time is 40 minutes to Stockholm Central Station. It’s the SkyCity but dont’t get confused with Arlanda Express which is faster and more expensive.

A day ticket costs 155 SEK for 24 hours, for 3 days 310 SEK and 405 SEK for 7 days.


If you go from Stockholm Airport to city center by taxi the most comfortable, available 24/7 and fastest way. The travel time by taxi is around 40 minutes and the taxi fare from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to city center is around €50-60. The prices and travel time aren’t fixed and it will depending on traffic and your final destination.


Hotel transfers are also very easy and convenient but can be a little bit pricey. The transfers are usually available 24 hours and is only ideal if you have the budget and you really want comfort after your flight to Stockholm. Car rental option can be great if you are traveling with a few people or a lot of luggage and planning to visit places around Stockholm and countryside. Make sure you have parking place in your hotel or Airbnb since sometimes can be so challenging in Stockholm city center.
