If you get from Tainan to Taichung by train. There are two ways High Speed Train and Taiwan Railways. The high speed train takes around 40 minutes from Tainan to Taichung. It costs For high speed train expect to pay around 800 TWD and one journey from Taichung City to Tainan.

Tainan to Taichung Taiwan Railways

If you want to get from Tainan to Taichung by Taiwan Railways takes half of the time and it costs more expensive than Taiwan Railways. The train from Taichung City to Tainan: Taiwan Railways will take around 2 hours and it costs 350 TWD. Make sure that you book your tickets at least two weeks in advance. Otherwise maybe you will run out of space.

High Speed Train Vs Taiwan Railways

High Speed train stations are usually outside the city while Taiwan Railways is close to city center. High Speed train costs double price but it takes half of the time to reach to the final destination.

If you want to get from Tainan to Taichung by bus. The price is around 250 TWD. And it takes 2 hours and a half to get there. The bus stations like Taiwan Railways are usually located close to city center. Base in our experience no need to book the bus ticket in advance.

How to get from Tainan to Taichung By Car

If you want to get from Tainan to Taichung by car. The distance between Tainan and Taichung is 170 kilometers. it can take less than 2 hours. It will be a great option if you are bringing a lot of luggage or you are traveling in a group.
