Kalanggaman Island is a small island located in Palompon, province of Leyte and island in the Visayas archipelago in the Philippines. We have been already talking about all the things to do in Malapascua and we will do extensively about Kalanggaman Island day trip one of our favorites in the Philippines!
The island is called Kalanggaman because of its bird-like shape. “Langgam” is a Visayan word for “bird.” During the storm, sand bars that protruded in the eastern and southern ends of the island were flattened by raging waves. Kalanggaman island is considered one of the most beautiful island in the Philippines. It may be small but it didn’t fail to strike us with its beauty. Its clear waters and the ever so popular sandbar makes the island even more incredibly unique. It’s only 750 meters and you walk around the island in just a few minutes. The sand bar can be until 250 meters long!
