HOW TO GET FROM CAGAYAN DE ORO TO CAMIGUIN
Camiguin is an island province in the Philippines located in the Bohol Sea, about 10 kilometers off the northern coast of Mindanao. It is a unique pear shaped island that is also called Island born of Fire because of its volcanic origins.
Most of the tourist attractions around the island is actually naturally made by the eruptions of the volcanoes in the island. You can read in this post the guides on how and what to do to go to Camiguin.
HOW TO GET FROM CAGAYAN DE ORO TO CAMIGUIN
If you are coming from Cagayan de Oro to Camiguin. You have to go to Agora Terminal to ride a bus going to Balingoan Port. Price is 160 PHP per person and can take up to 2-3 hours. If you are going by van expect to pay 120 PHP for around 2 hours trip.
BALINGOAN TO CAMIGUIN
The ferry fare Balingoan to Camiguin costs 205 PHP per person for 70-90 minutes. You will get to Benoni Port in Camiguin Island. There is 15 PHP Terminal Fee and 5 PHP enviromental fee before going from Balingoan to Camiguin.
To get from Balingoan to Camiguin. There are ferries leaving from Balingoan to Camiguin 4 15 am until 4 pm. It depends on the season but every hour or hour and a half the ferries are leaving.
There are jeepneys and multicabs from Benoni Port going to Mambajao and if you shared the ride it will cost only 25 PHP. If you get a private motorella to Mambajao will costs around 300 PHP and a private multicab around 400 PHP to your final destination.
Total travel time from Cagayan de Oro to Camiguin can be 5-6 hours with the waiting time for the van and the ferry.
HOW TO GET TO CAMIGUIN BY FLIGHT
Camiguin has its own airport in Mambajao. Cebu Pacific offers regular flights to the province. For travelers coming from Manila, its either you make your way to Cagayan de Oro or Butuan City. There are flights coming from Clark in Angeles City to Cagayan de Oro where you can connect by bus and ferry, or by plane from Cagayan de Oro to Camiguin like we did.
HOW TO GET TO CAMIGUIN FROM THE AIRPORT
From Camiguin’s own airport in Mambajao, there are vans and jeepneys you can ride to that are available for longer trips or far destinations around the island. Then there are tricycles, habal-habal and multicabs too for more option or for nearer destinations around Camiguin.
Usual fare for shared tricycles are 10-20 PHP or so, depending on where is your destination. There aren’t fixed prices from the airport, it’s depending how far you are going!

HOW TO GET TO CAMIGUIN FROM BOHOL BY FERRY
There are 3 main ferry ports going to Camiguin. These are Balbagon Ferry Terminal, Benoni Ferry Terminal and White Island Ferry Terminal.
The main one is Port Benoni, which tourists always choose. Benoni Port is the port close to the main town of Mambajao. There are a lot of ferry companies you can choose from depending on your budget.
There are available ferries from Bohol going to Camiguin and it is Super Shuttle Ferry 21. Super Shuttle Ferry leaves in Jagna (Bohol) and arrives at around 5PM in Balbagon. One-way trip costs PHP425 or $9 USD.

HOW TO GET TO CAMIGUIN FROM CEBU
If you are coming from Cebu, just book a direct flight to Camiguin. It will only be an hour flight and you will be directly landing on Camiguin’s airport in Mambajao. Fare can costs 700 PHP up to 2,000 PHP depending on what season you’ll book. Also, if you can book in advance, you might see promos for cheaper deals.
HOW TO GET TO CAMIGUIN FROM BUTUAN
From Butuan, you have to ride a bus going to Balingoan Port via Cagayan de Oro. You can ask to be dropped off at the Balingoan Port to the driver or the person who gives the ticket. Travel time is 3 hours or so and the fare is 202 PHP per person.
Once in Balingoan port, buy the ticket for the ferry ride 205 PHP and 90 minutes journey going to Benoni Port in Camiguin and you’re there.
HOW TO GET TO CAMIGUIN FROM ILIGAN
You have to ride a bus from Iligan going to Cagayan de Oro. Travel time is 2-3 hours and the fare is approximately 200 PHP per person.
From Cagayan de Oro, you have to ride another bus in Agora Market to take you to Balingoan port where you’ll have to ride the ferry to be able to reach the Benoni Port in Camiguin.
HOW TO GET TO CAMIGUIN FROM SURIGAO
Ride a bus going to Butuan City. Buses are available as early as 5:30 AM and wait for passenger for 30 minutes only. Vans are also available but it can get pricey, so bus is preferred. Fare is approximately 400 PHP.
Once you arrive in Butuan City, ride a bus going to Cagayan de Oro and get off at Balingoan Port. Fare is about 250 PHP to 300 PHP. From Balingoan, ride a ferry to Benoni Port in Camiguin.
HOW TO GET TO CAMIGUIN FROM DAVAO
There is two ways to go to Camiguin if you are going there from Davao. Both includes inland traveling but the other one is faster. You can book a flight from Davao to Cagayan de Oro via Philippine Airlines, or ride a bus (aircon or non-aircon) to Cagayan de Oro’s Agora terminal.
The ride will take as long as 7 hours and costs 800 PHP. From Cagayan de Oro, ride a bus going to Balingoan Port where you’ll have to buy ticket for the ferry to take you to Camiguin’s Benoni Port.
WHERE TO SLEEP IN CAMIGUIN
YSLA BEACH CAMP AND ECO RESORT
With pool views, YSLA Beach Camp and Eco Resort is located in Mambajao and has a restaurant, a tour desk, bar and garden. Free WiFi is offered. Some units feature a seating area and/or a patio. A continental breakfast is served each morning at the property.
The campground has an outdoor pool. A grill is available for guests to use at YSLA Beach Camp and Eco Resort. Room starts at $80 a night.
There is a beach area with black sand very beautiful where you can see the sunset and sunrise with views to White Island.

BINTANA SA PARAISO
Located in Mambajao, where Camiguin’s airport is nestled, Bintana sa Paraiso is one of the luxurious resort in the island. It has its own restaurant and the room has terraces and pool overlooking the sea.
Guest rooms come with a TV with satellite channels, fridge, a electric tea pot, a bidet, free toiletries and a closet. Rooms are complete with a private bathroom equipped with a hair dryer, while some rooms here will provide you with a seating area. A room a night can cost up to $120 but it is all worth it!
And there is a new brand open in the mountain Binunsaran where you can get views to White Island. The cottages are so beautiful and the place is so peaceful. It’s located 6 kilometers far from Mambajao in the mountains.

MABINI LODGE
Set in Mambajao, Mabini Lodge offers accommodations with free WiFi and access to a fitness room and an indoor swimming pool. Complimentary private parking is available on site.
The accommodations comes with a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with shower while the kitchen features a fridge. A balcony with garden views is offered in all units.

KURMA ECO BEACH LODGE
KURMA Freedive Camiguin is located just across White Island sandbar. The friendly staff can assist with luggage storage, airport shuttle and massage services. Free-dove and yoga courses are also available. Cooled with air conditioning or a fan, rooms come with tiled flooring and a terrace. The private bathroom offers toiletries.
The in-house restaurant and bar serves breakfast, lunch and dinner meals that cater to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Room rate starts at $36 a night.
