Times Square
Times Square is one of New York’s most popular attractions, best known for its New Year’s ball drop, an event that’s watched by millions around the world. Times Square has cinemas, theatres, and eateries for you to visit, as well as street food vendors, and street performers.
If you’re visiting New York, then it’s definitely advisable to visit Times Square. You can’t visit New York and leave without taking a photo of you standing at Times Square. If you’re able to, try to visit during the city’s New Years festivities. Times Square really comes alive then.
The Empire State Building
The Empire State Building in New York’s most iconic building, along with the Statue of Liberty. The building is designed in the art deco style and has a rich, long history. According to the travel specialists, you can get tour tickets that allow you to go right to the top of the Empire State Building.
At the building’s top, you can get panoramic views of New York City. There is an award-winning restaurant on the building’s ground floor, which is definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.
Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty is another of New York’s most iconic sites. The statue was a gift from France, commemorating the United States and France’s longstanding diplomatic alliance. You can take tours to the island that the Statue of Liberty stands on.
These tours run on a daily basis. There was some interruption during the pandemic and its lockdowns, but these interferences have been mostly eliminated now. You should be able to get a tour of the Statue of Liberty, provided that you are vaccinated or are wearing personal protective equipment. It’s somewhere you have to say if you’re in New York, even if you see it from the shore of the mainland.
Little Italy
Little Italy is one of New York’s most famous ethnic enclaves, along with Chinatown. Little Italy has been home to Italian immigrants for over a century and boasts some of New York’s most delicious and famous restaurants. In addition to visiting Little Italy’s eateries and bistros, you could also consider taking one of the area’s many ‘mob tours.’ Little Italy has a long history with the American Mafia. If you are interested in crime and the district’s association with the mafia, then it’s worth taking one of these tours.
Chinatown
Chinatown is another of New York’s famous ethnic enclaves. Chinatown, like Little Italy, is home to award-winning and world-famous restaurants. With Chinese New Year approaching, there’s never been a better time to visit Chinatown.
Chinatown comes alive during Chinese New Year, with street vendors, floats, parades, and outdoor events. On Chinese New Year, there are fireworks and festivities. If you’re in New York then it’s worth visiting Chinatown. You’re sure to find something interesting going on, and there’s lots of delicious food for you to try. Chinatown is extremely close to Little Italy, so you can visit both districts on the same day.
Central Park
Central Park is one of New York’s largest and most famous parks. The park has been featured in movies, theatre, and art for at least a century. Overlooking Central Park is Trump Tower and the famous San Remo. There are lots of things for you to do in Central Park, from watching street performers to ice skating during the winter months.
There are also lots of street food vendors dotted around the park, some of whom have gained worldwide acclaim for their delicious, innovative food. The park is, of course, also very beautiful, and worth exploring purely for the wildlife and flora.
NY Botanical Garden
The New York Botanical Garden is absolutely gorgeous and deserves a visit, especially if you’re interested in botany. There are lots of rare, beautiful flowers and plants to be found there. Admission is completely free to members and $32 to members of the public.
If you are visiting New York, then you need to see as much as you can, so that you get the most out of your trip.
