White Island in Camiguin (Travel Guide)

How to get to White Island

If you are coming from Benoni Port you can get a jeepney for 25 PHP or a van for 30 PHP to Mambajao terminal. From there you can hire a tricycle or habal habal to Paras Beach Resort where the boats depart for White Island. If you prefer renting a motorbike, it will cost you 350 PHP for a day.

If you are staying in Camiguin in the area of Mambajao and Yumbling is very close from White Island. The island is exactly in front of Paras Beach Resort.

There are a few boats going to White Island and it costs 450 PHP for maximum 6 people and 50 PHP entrance fee. It’s popular to go for the sunrise and sunset. The island it closes at 5 pm but we saw people staying little bit longer.

To visit White Beach, you have a few options. If you want to do on a budget you can join to other boat and share expenses. If you are planning to take nice pictures as we were planning. It’s better you check if there are many people in the island before going. We went to the island and it was empty. So we had so much fun enjoying our paradise island taking pictures, flying the drone and swimming for 3 hours just with our boatman.

If you need snorkeling gear there is market before getting the boat where you can buy or rent it. There is also food available and water and drinks. Once in the island you can rent an umbrella for 150 PHP and don’t forget two things sunblock and collect all the garbage that you are bringing to keep it clean White Island.

The views from the island are amazing! Blue water and white sand. Plus the view of Mt. Hibok-hibok in the front.

What to do after visiting White Island in Camiguin

And after visiting White Island? We recommend you to visit waterfalls Tuasan or Katibawasan Falls as we did. There are also more options like Santo Niño Cold Spring. We chose to visit Ardent Hot springs and it was really nice! We recommend you to visit Ardent Hotspring before sunset since is a beautiful place to take pictures with the clear and blue water. Later you can relax at night time before going for dinner.

If you have time you can head to San Roque port to get a boat to Mantigue Island other paradise island in Camiguin. It will take 30 minutes to get there by motorbike. You are only allowed to stay 4 hours in Mantigue Island and to rent a boat costs 600 PHP maximum 6 people. It’s great for snorkeling Mantigue Island, relaxing in a cottage, taking pictures or swimming. It’s not allowed to stay overnight in Mantigue Island!
