Tips for a more comfortable and easy airport experience

Travel is something that should be uncomplicated. After all, you are on holiday and should be enjoying everything, but it is, unfortunately, not always the case. I have been travelling for many years now and I think that I can definitely share some tips with you to have an easier and more comfortable experience. Read on to find out some more about them.

Bring the airport to you

I absolutely hate heading to the airport on the day that I need to fly somewhere. There is always the anguish that you feel, especially if you didn’t leave exactly on time. I have definitely found a great way to counter this by staying in airport hotels. The concept is very simple you stay in one of the Manchester airport hotels or wherever you happen to be and it is right next to the airport. Instead of worrying about getting your train, you simply head to the airport very quickly and without breaking a sweat. It is simply an amazing feeling to experience this.

Reserve your seat

This is definitely one of my favourite tips for a more comfortable flight is to reserve your seat and to get the most comfortable one possible. It is more money, but it is relatively cheap and it can make such a huge difference. There are many seats that have more room and are by nature more comfortable and the ones to look out for are the ones with no other seats in front of them or exit row seats. You may not be able to afford first or business class, however, there are definitely ways to make flying in an economy class seat much better and this is one of the best.

Research the airports beforehand

This is one of those tips that only truly seasoned travellers understand and it is interesting that many people don’t take advantage of the airports they are flying too, especially when you have a long layover. Various airports around the world have some great facilities that you might not know about otherwise unless you do your research. A great example of this is Abu Dhabi airport, where you can actually take a shower for free, so make sure you bring a small towel! There are many airports with little things to offer to make your trip easier, so research and take advantage.

Look into lounges

You may think that airport lounges are reserved for people that hold first class or business class tickets, but did you know that there are quite a number of these that allow people to pay a fee to use the lounge. It is hard to say exactly how much these cost, but I have tried this on a few occasions and it has always been more reasonably priced that I would have thought. These definitely have the advantage of comfortable seats, less hustle and bustle and sometimes free food and drinks! These can make a long layover much more bearable!
