X2 Koh Samui Resort- Resorts for a traveling couple

Thailand is definitely popular for its travel scene – whether you are a backpacker, a flashpacker, or traveling in luxury. I’ve been to Thailand many times to understand a good part of its culture. Travel in Thailand can be extremely exhausting and intimidating, especially if you are new to the country, as there are so many tourists. What wilth all the easy access, cheap prices (cheaper than Europe, although becoming more expensive compared to neighboring Asian countries.)

Traveling as a couple in Thailand, Ruben and I definitely have to work on a lot of stuff — working on the blog, managing our Instagram client work, and lastly, still feel the traveling vibe. It can be tough some days, so balancing things out is very, very important. This is why we chose to stay with X2 Koh Samui Resort. This is our ultimate couple travel resort suggestion for Thailand.

Entrance to the villa at X2 Koh Samui Resort

X2 (read as Cross To) resorts focus in “designed for the spirit”. From the time you enter, you will feel it. You have the optimal privacy you will ever need. At first, it was a little bit surprising. We’ve been to some hotels that people were super warm and jolly, but that’s not the case here. This actually felt like a good difference.

We got the pool villa, a nice 160 sqm hotel room, with your own pool, a bedroom in the middle, and well, just classy. (Okay, we’re not into too much discussions of materials here. I don’t think I have the necessary capacity to discuss that. ha!). The marble flooring was perfect. The bed was just so comfortable. The colors. The open shower room. The pool outside.

It did rain quite a lot, but we’re lucky to have been able to spend some cozy time. We really needed it. This is very important when you’re traveling as a couple.

There are other rooms you can choose from of course. Based on our stay, a lot of the people staying were actually couples. But you can definitely be with your family or alone. This place can cater to your needs.

We immediately went out to swim when we got some sunlight! We loved the outdoors in X2, as much as we loved to stay in the indoors.

Unlimited Massages at X2 Spa

Got an unlimited time to relax? Then try the unlimited spa with X2. There are so much services to choose from surrounding relaxation, massage and beauty. Ruben chose massages for 2 days, while I had the chance to try the foot and hand massage with manicure and pedicure.

Yes. You heard it right. You can enjoy unlimited Spa booking. This is perfect for a getaway where you needed to just have your private relaxing time. Ruben took all the massages he can in 2 days. Which means one massage a day. (haha!), and I made sure I had the foot and spa treatments. Girls definitely love that!

Not sure which massage to try? Then the X2 signature massage is perfect. For Ruben, this was a good choice since he’s not into very hard massages. The x2 signature massage is “just right”, and if you’re prone to pain, can be a very good choice for you.

We are not specialists though, so make sure you properly ask which massage is right for you when you are booking. The specialists in X2 will definitely advise you of the one that will fit your needs perfectly.

Loved the products in the Spa? You can even order some to take home!

Make sure you talk to the people surrounding you. The manager of the x2 spa, Ms. Kik, is a lovely married Thai woman who had amazing stories of her travels all around the world, and how she keeps herself healthy in her age. This is definitely one of the biggest eye opening conversations I had in my life.

How was the food at X2 Koh Samui Resort

X2’s restaurant definitely offers exquisite ala carte food. We suggest you order to really experience the best food they have, which is a mix of Thai, Italian and Australian dishes.

X2 Koh Samui Resort: Eating at the restaurant

Chiang Mai Pizza

Fries and burger. The meat is very good here in x2.

Local food: X2 Koh Samui Resort

Masamang curry for some authentic Thai taste.

Order this if you are craving for something Thai. Very delicious curry with the right level of spiciness (something you can eat a lot, even if you’re into too much spicy food). Best enjoyed with rice.

Desserts at X2 Koh Samui Resort

Desserts? Try the green macha ice cream. Beats Thai heat!

Love us some Tiramisu. Took ours to the room to enjoy with the indoor pool.

Koh Samui is an island so make sure you make time to visit outside. We love the beach so even if there was some rain, we enjoyed every bit of x2 indoors, because let’s face it. There’s a lot to enjoy.

And that’s our couple getaway highlight! It is very important that you get to enjoy private time when you travel, even when you are working. It all comes down to the quality of the place, and of course trying to make the most of out of the time you have.

We do bring our work with us, however, when it’s beach time, we try to live in the moment. Soak up the sun and just have fun.
